He must change the prices everytime we have gone in. We come in every so often (we usually go to Tupton chippy) and it’s the same guy every time. Every time been overcharged but this time was absolutely astonishing .. A pound extra for a burger bun, why would you advertise a burger without the bun? I think he must make it up on spot.
Went for the first time today and will certainly go again. I had a very good fish, freshly cooked. Nice flakey cod with crispy batter. I ordered small chips but the serving was huge!
1st Hasland Scout Group (Cubs) hiked through Grassmoor Country Park to the fish bar on 27/09/24. A large order was placed for around 20 individual and varied meals whilst on route. Upon arrival all the food was freshly prepared and wrapped ready to go! The children paid for their food separately, with the staff being very patient and friendly. We would definitely recommend and this is now our third annual “chip hike” and hope there will be many more to follow to this tasty, well portioned fish bar!
Once when the owner was away, a few years ago now (but same owner) I had cause to complain at the poor quality burnt food I recieved. When I say burnt, I recieved a black charred naan bread. Which truly was inedible. I was informed it was a member of the owners family covering. Since then on the few occasions I have tried again, I feel unwelcome from the owner. It is sad, because, the food is usually good, with decent sized portions.

Amazing cod from here, really thick flakes, no skin whatsoever...we only live maybe 3 miles away but there rang much pressure local fish & chip shops yet we always choose to go here if we can!
Vile, overpriced compared to most chip shops and this is what you get served, save your money go some where else.
Went with a group of 12 Beaver Scouts. They were absolutely fantastic with the orders. So kind and helpful. Food was really good. Will go again.
