Ordered a meal box, hardly any chips, felt more like a kids meal portion than what is usually served as an adults.

Had a very filling Chicken Pie, Chips, Mushy Peas and gravy for lunch. The service was really good. The management should commend the young ladies who were serving today. (10th Feb 2025) It is a rare thing to see such politeness from young people these days. Well done!

First time visiting after pre booking earlier in the week. We was promptly seated, the table service was friendly, polite & efficient, nice atmosphere, clean & tidy. We had starters (Prawn cocktail & 3 cheeses) & mains (steak & halloumi) the portion sizes were huge! Presented well, hot & tasty. My only negative is that the canned Guinness is not very nice & it wasn't particularly cold / chilled. We enjoyed the visit that much we purchased a gift voucher for a Christmas gift for a family member. Would definitely revisit.

My second visit to this establishment, would be more but as I live 120 miles away, I have limited opportunities. Nevertheless, a varied menu caters for most tastes and the fish and chips, for which it is renowned, is some of the best I have ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit for friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food.

This is our go to place for fish and chips even though we live on the other side of town. The restaurant is excellent but we prefer the take away, in summer we eat them sat on the many picnic tables that are arranged down the side of the building, in winter we sit in the car. Generous portions well cooked.

Had a table booked for 6.30pm - no sooner sat down than asked for our drinks order. Food was served quickly, but wasn't particularly hot. Wasn't even asked if we wanted dessert, staff seemed to want us out so they could clean tables, even though diners still sat in front area. Not impressed!

Our meal and drinks cost around £78. Generous portions, absolutely delicious food. The staff was very friendly and understanding of my autistic child who can be a bit difficult in restaurants. They were very patient and calm. Especially the dark haired lady. She was lovely. I would definitely eat there again. Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. There is a kids playground towards the back. They also have a.pensioners discount day. Highly recommended.
