Dine and stay at Joro such a treat for our wedding anniversary! The current Japanese inspired menu was thoroughly enjoyable, a captivating mix of punchy and subtle flavours. I don't want to spoil the adventure of discovering the dishes and the menu will change periodically, but there wasn't a course we didn't enjoy. Always fun to find new flavours and combinations. A highlight of the current menu was the celeriac course - who knew the humble root veg related to celery could be SO tasty! And the Amalfi chilli sauce with the trout was beautifully balanced to bring out the delicate taste of the trout. We didn't have the drinks package, but the staff were very helpful recommending drinks. The cocktails, a twist on the usuals, were an additional layer of enjoyment to the evening and the meal, lots of choice of drinks. I discovered sake, japanese rice wine, a great alternative compliment to white wine. The serving staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, able to answer my many questions! The theatre of being able to watch Luke and the team create all the dishes in front of you really adds to the experience. The room, we had what was I think the larger apartment style room 1, was beautifully set out, welcome miso and chocolate cookies, with plenty of amenities. Breakfast was a tasty mix of Japanese and Scandinavian, a great final treat to the stay. The self-check in was really convenient. Parking is across the road from the Mill, not behind it. Thank you everyone at Joro for an amazing anniversary treat!

Enjoyed the menu One lunch here for my wife’s birthday, 5 of us and grandson. We all selected a different course as our favourite at the end of the meal, highlighting the delicious range of flavours. Quality of the food was impeccable, service friendly and polite with good explanation of each dish and in a comfortable and relaxed ambiance. Would definitely recommend the Joro experience.

What an experience! This was by far one of the best places I've had the pleasures of eating at. Everything was perfect. The temperature of the room down to the seating arrangements. The food was out of this world, the depth of flavor and how each course had its own accompanied drink that paired with, choice of alcoholic or non. Meticulous planning went into the most subtle of details to give you the most amazing experience.

This was a gift and we chose the shorter lunch option as we didn't have experience of tasting menus. The service was very friendly and welcoming, not intimidating at all. All the menu was explained but not in excessive detail. I had the wine pairing which was well worth it with 2 English wines included. I think this was a good value menu for the amount of detail in the cooking and number of courses . The alcohol menu is also extensive and not over priced.

First time we've been here. We actually had a reservation for 3 weeks before we went but I got ill and had to cancel at the last minute. They kindly said if they could fill the table I could transfer my reservation and fee to another day, but given we cancelled on the same day I didn't hold much hope, but they called a few hours later to say they'd done so. I enjoy that honesty and it gives you a good first impression before you've eaten a thing! Anyway the food! We had a small cheese filled thin pastry for an appetiser, which tasted like Cheese Moments but posher obviously! Delicious. There was some home made bread served, with some terrifically favoured butter and my favourite course of the night Chawanmushi which we all had their caviar with. It was a troutand broccoli set custard dish, which sounds odd in the way fine dining often does, but the flavours were out of this world. I don't like trout usually but loved this dish. Next was Cod Crudo, which was cured cod with radish, my least favourite dish of the evening, but they rest of the group enjoyed it immensely, I'm personally not a fan of the texture of uncooked fish but I ate it and the flavours were good. Next was a celeriac "pasta" which we had with the truffle, which was grated rather than sliced and it tasted completely different than when I've had it before. The celeriac worked well with it. As this is going on a bit and nobody will read this far I'll skip to the pudding (in-between was the finest pieced of pig I've ever eaten and a lamb dish which had a dark sweet sauce with just enough wasabi to make it perfectly balanced and delicious) The pudding was unusual, a rhubarb and ginger ice creamy pot of delight. I've no idea what was in it, I was well in to the wine taster at this point but it was unusual and very nice. Forgive my lack of deep knowledge, I'm not really a foodie, but the one thing I can say having eaten at many fine restaurants all over the world, this was by some distance the best, and it is in my home town! Also.... The service was excellent and restaurant very laid back. Sheffield style.

An amazing restaurant - one of the best I've been to in the UK. Great atmosphere and the service is outstanding. The food is incredible, full of wondrous and unique flavour, and the bramley apple dessert is one of the best desserts I have ever had. Do yourself a favour and get here- you will not regret it.
