You have to take your hat off to Damian and his coworkers. Proper food served with cask beers and all the usual drinks you find in a pub, in the vast dining area, with outdoor seating if you feel the need for fresh air. Very dog friendly, they even do doggy meals at the current price of Β£4.00. Damian's team are more like a family team, being very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be returning in the future.

We had a superb Christmas dinner today. Really delicious. Nice atmosphere with lovely smell of wood fire. Just busy enough to be cheerful, not crowded. Great service and our two slightly nervy dogs were welcome too. Considering the lovely fresh tasting food we had the price was unbeatable. I would recommend unreservedly.

We arrived as a 12 man walking group to the most friendly welcome & Timothy Taylor on draught. We ordered a variety of meals & each & every one of us were most impressed with our meals at exceptional value. The most enjoyable experience. In these tough times, we must suppport historic pubs like this

Great little accidental find after we just did a walk in the peaks and needed some respite, lovely and cosy inside with a lovely fire and big TV, service was friendly, quick and easy. We only had some puddings, but they were delicious and great that dogs are allowed as well. Lovely big car park, toilets were clean

Seemed quiet on a Saturday afternoon in February. Very friendly - they changed the TV channel for us. Dog was welcome, plenty of water bowls. Food was very good. Only a few veggie options, but I really appreciated a good home made bean burger, so much better than the pretend meat that many places offer these days. The chef was genuinely interested in whether we had enjoyed our meal, which is a good sign. Well kept beer - I had a nice pint of Landlord.

Absolutely delicious food, with a huge choice of gluten free options. Really slow service though, but it's a lovely pub to sit and socialise in while you wait.

So a fourth pub/restaurant visited in this area of Sheffield, the Three Merry Lads. Unfortunately it was a quiet Monday early evening but the food was good and tge service was okay with good knowledge about the place and the ability to stay there in your own camper van, very handy. They have a good range of liquid refreshments being in the small group of venues which includes the Norfolk Arms. The venue is very friendly to those that are walking dogs or have just spent the day getting boots muddy, another very handy thing. The place is very nicely decorated for Xmas and hand two log fires blazing away, like the Norfolk, superb. All said and done a visit here is definitely very worthwhile especially on a cold night in November.

Called in for Sunday lunch after an autumn walk, really fancied something warming and wholesome. There were 5 of us and we hadnβt booked so was pleasantly surprised they seated us straight away. A lovely touch were the towels by the door for my dogs muddy paws, but slightly pointless because my boots were just as muddy? Anyway, the 5 of us ordered Sunday lunch which was served pretty quickly. We were given 1 bowl of veg between 2 and another of the same sized bowls of veg between 3β¦ and can you really say that Sunday lunch is served with roasted parsnips if youβre only given one piece of roads parsnip? My honest opinion was that they were trying to save money whilst maintaining that I pay Β£15. Iβm not saying it was horrible - I ate it all - there just wasnβt that much. Perhaps a tactical move to have me pay an extra Β£4 for dessert? Which, by the way, was the nicest part of the meal. Apple crumble and custard was to a good standard. Overall, 3 out of 5. Also, I just want to say that there was a distinct lack of vegetarian options on the menu (I gave the roast beef from the lunch to my dog). Poor!
