Me and my Partner visited today for the first time. We was quickly greeted and seated with plenty of tables available. At the time we had to wait 10 mins for the lunch menu to start which we didn't mind at all. We ordered 2 gingerbread mocha's which arrived promptly and they were very nice! Then we ordered a ploughman's and a beef brisket sandwich meal, mine was the ploughman's and I thought it wasn't anything special and lacking in some ways and too much chicken pate on the plate, I think it was alright but definitely not worth the money at all. And when the meal arrived a lump of cheese on my plate had a hair on it but I'm not one to complain about the small things and just removed that part. My partner had the beef brisket on a brioche bun which was in the middle of this bowl of cheesy sauce stuff and fries, he said it was ok but not that great, the beef was very dry and he wasn't sure how to eat the sandwich since it was semi buried in a bowl of sauce. Both meals looked well presented but both lacking in ways such as flavour and ingredients so because of this we won't be returning for food since the price doesn't reflect the quality of food served.

Well this was unexpected. We came for the goats but the Scones stole the show. A wonderful dog friendly café. With honestly the best scones I have ever had. Honestly two mouthfuls in, myself and my partner were in awe. Soft, warm buttery and fluffy. Milkshakes for my 8 year old went down a treat. Honestly this place is fantastic, dog friendly with a dog menu.

We needed somewhere for lunch on our drive up to the seaside and stumbled across the Potting Shed. Unlike the name suggests, this is not a small shed but a huge, comfortable restaurant and cafe located in a large converted farmyard barn. The inside is simply stunning and worth a visit if you're into interior decoration or are considering converting an old building. The quality of the food also matches the interior and you can expect locally sourced products, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. The staff were genuinely super - efficient and professional, and were able to cope with the wide mix of customers. There were young mothers with prams, older couples, large families and dog walkers and yet everyone had plenty of space in the different rooms and everybody was welcomed. A great find!

Lovely location overlooking the river/stream in the Pot House Hamlet at Silkstone. We found the food to be excellent (and a good choice of cakes if you just want coffee/tea and cake). I've been several times and never disappointed.

Unfortunately, not that good. Never been before and the place looks lovely., amazing even. However, the service and the food were very poor. Maybe they were too busy for Mother's Day that they couldn't cope? I wouldn't go again.

Great little place, with good food and a chilled atmosphere, staff and people were friendly, was it worth it? So 2 kids, 2 adults, £45, but when you consider we had 3 bowls of chips, with dips, 4 drinks and 4 generous portions of cake each, I'd say absolutely! Better than a Starbucks any day. I feel we should shift our perception from thinking an evening meal should be the most expensive meal, and that anything relaxed, safe for kids and an enjoyable experience is definitively worth a trip out. Finally, the Christmas decor was fab, and I did enjoy taking photos of the decorations, ducks and geese.

A lovely evening out and excellent food. Perhaps a little pricy at £32 per head but it was a Italian Night Special so we knew that upfront. The service was prompt and the three course meal delicious. We both enjoyed it and it was a lovely evening. This was a treat for both of us and I highly recommend it.

Sometimes you just stumble across a gem and we did today. What a fantastic setting. Polite professional staff and beautiful hot tasty food. Pulled beef sandwich and chips were perfect. The best onion rings I've ever tasted and crispy batter. Everything about the place is brilliant and not a long wait between ordering and delivery of the food to the table.
