Really lovely meal last night. Good portion size and really tender meat. My husband loved his chicken. Hopefully the locals will come and back and support to get this pub back to how it was.

Under new management for second time this year. New owners / managers are making an effort to keep a village pub alive. The regulars are drifting back, but a once a lively pub seems a little soulless. Sincerely hope they can turn in around.

First time visiting the horseshoe last night for a friends birthday safe to say I wouldnβt return . The place was near enough empty yet we waited over 40 mins for food when it did come there was still a delay between some meals. The food was okay but for Β£19.90 for braised beef the presentation was just like a pile of mush and to be honest bland with hardly and taste others also commented on there meals being dry and some what tasteless. The services wasnβt to great either safe to safe I will not return or recommend.

I arrived at the Horseshoe Inn after struggling to find a nearby lunchtime venue with an attractive variety of food on the menu. Here I found the true Lord of the Pies and am now a devotee! This first time I dined on his award winning Braised Beef masterpiece with Truffle and Parmesan mash and will definitely return to taste more and more. Thereβs also plentiful choice for vegetarian diners.

A hidden gem, fantastic food and atmosphere, a proper pub where you can just sit back and enjoy the moment. To top it all the staff are so wonderfully welcoming. Been coming here for well over forty years. It's now a 40 mile round trip for us but distance is of no consequence when the end result is so uplifting.

Not a great experience here I'm afraid. I usually love calling for an impromptu drink at a country pub in passing, but I certainly won't be in a hurry to visit this one again. It was a Bank Holiday afternoon, there was 1 table of people eating, 1 table of customers with a drink and 3 young people at the end of bar so hardly busy. However, as the barmaid returned to the bar with a drink in hand, she proceeded to have a conversation with the 3 young people at the end of said bar about cats before even acknowledging we we're stood waiting to be served. The place looks like it could do with a good old scrub with some soap, water and elbow grease and the decor has gone way past the olde worlde, traditional theme, and just looks like it hasn't seen lick of paint since the turn of the century. Needless to say we didn't stay for another. The final nail in the coffin was when I went out of my way to return the empty glasses to the bar and say thank you and again the staff member didn't even raise her head from her conversation, If she hadn't eventually poured us a drink and accepted our money I would completely doubt that she would have been aware of our custom at all. Hardly the warm welcome one would expect from a smaller, out of the way country pub.

Today was our first visit to this pub, for lunch. The food was tasty and the service was quick - for us anyway. It's not the classiest of pubs, but interesting, with lots of alcoves and interesting decor. There was some confusion today about the dining system, which involves finding a table and then ordering at the bar. One couple walked out due to being ignored, and another couple were irritated with a waitress because no-one came to the table to take the order. The staff could be more presentable too.
