We were here on a Sunday night before Christmas and it was very busy and unfortunately the table we had was also very noisy as we had a large family gathering next to us. Overall the decor, carpets etc are looking a bit worn and in need of an overhaul. The food and drinks were fine, I had the chicken combo and my wife had fish and chips, both of us found the mains quite filling. Ordering through the app was a bit of a faff having to do it from scratch and I ended up with 2 x chips instead of a portion of onion rings. We had some ice cream for dessert but it’s not what’s on display, the white chocolate was quite powdery and we were charged for 3 servings instead of 2. My wife got the impression the server wasn’t very sure what he was doing. I’d give it 3.5/5 but considering I’m generous will round that up to 4.

Whenever weve popped in, weve never had an issue, staff are always hard working, busy, friendly and keen to help you out.. we often use the app to order so never catch anyone's name! But we a good off putting bunch when we arrive together.. #thelastoftheGBteam

Last visited about 11 years ago and it was absolutely fantastic. Thought we would pay another visit yesterday. Wish we hadn't bothered. We were seated near the play area which we had requested not to be. The table was sticky, the menus covered in food. When the food came it looked very mediocre. The half roast chicken looked like a competent vet could of revived it, pale soft skin. Presentation was gash. I guess you get what you pay for. Wouldn't recommend

Pre-booked for family BD lunch. Pre-booking is a must as it gets really bisy on the weekend. Decent sized carpark but it gets full quick. Food decent with good portion sizes but not amazing quality, especially the steaks. Fast easy service ordering on the app. Staff are nice and attentive. It is on flat ground making it suitable for disabled. The only criticism is that it needs a good deep clean (tables very sticky) and redecoration.

Very accommodating and excellent choice of meals... We had a large party booked for Sunday lunch and the seating just wasn't OK for us when we arrived... Staff did all they could to put us at a table that worked for us at one of their busiest times. Which meant we had a lovely afternoon with family x Thanks againwe will definitely be back... Also offered an excellent choice of food other than Sunday carvery... Food quick to arrive and enormous portions of cake!

It was busy at first, due to the time we went, that aside the 3 of us had a good time, the carvery was great the steak we asked for was medium rare it was cooked great, all the food was good,we even had 3 piece of red velvet cake, that we took home. It was a good way to celebrate my birthday The place was clean the staff friendly, they even found pigs in blankets without the blankets for 1 of my family who does not eat bacon. I would go there again to celebrate my birthday. Want to say thanks to the staff for making it stress free

Really nice pub. Had to go with my second choice, the carvery (which was delicious), as my first choice wasn't in stock. Also half the desserts were not available, which was disappointing. There was a pensioner club in on the day we went, so it was really busy, but still found a table no problem. The atmosphere was really nice, because of the pensioners club, there was a music quiz and bingo and other such games going on, which you can't help but joining in... I would defo go again.

Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Good coffee. Didn't have time for a hot breakfast but all the items in the buffet looked delicious and there were plenty of other customers who were eating. Plenty of room and choice of tables. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for meeting up, very close to the junction of the East Lancs. and the M6.
