Visisted again this evening. always great food , great service . Yes you wait a little longer than a normal gastro generic pub, BUT its worth the wait for proper grub ! Steak done to your liking rather than how the chef likes to cook it . Delicious !

My sisters and myself book a meal for yesterday. And every meal was amazing, hot, beautifully cooked, and well presented. My only criticism, and its not really a criticism. There was so much foid on the plate, we only ate half. Maybe smaller plates, for us that love good food, but have smaller appetites, maybe a pensioners menu. ? Xx

The best chips I’ve ever had. Visited as a group for a midweek catchup after receiving many recommendations. The waitress was so lovely and attentive, and immediately made us feel so at home. Really enjoyed the halloumi burger, and the chipotle sauce on the side was perfect so I could tailor the burger to my spice level. Generous portions at a really reasonable price. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meal in such a warm welcoming environment. 100% recommend, will be returning soon

Just had our first visit and it was amazing!!! Ordered home made steak and ale pie and steak and kidney pudding. Both were beautifully cooked, full of flavour and just so delicious!! Food came out cooked to perfection, nice and hot and looked beautiful. Dipped each of my chips into the gravy savouring every one!!! Chips like your Mum used to make - what's not to love?!?!?!? Only regret was that I was too full to have a dessert!! Will definitely try again next time. Was very quiet ( 4.30 on a Friday afternoon) and because there was only two other tables taken everyone was whispering but by the time I started eating, I would have happily sat by myself alone in a corner!!! Absolutely beautiful food and will definitely be going again - SOON!!!

Fantastic pub with top quality, home cooked meals. The prices are similar, if not cheaper, than franchise pubs but the quality is so much better. There is a good variety of options on the menu, and the deserts are incredible. Could not recommend here enough

Brilliant food all fresh. I absolutely LOVE their home made chips. The service is fabulous. Just all round a brilliant place for a quick drink or a bite to eat!

Best pub grub I have had in a long time , this little quirky pub delivers the best food , at first it does feel weird walking in as it’s a little bit uneven but that’s because it’s not been modernised since World War One !! Go to the bar side to and have a look at the vintage wall of football and rugby league shirts !!!

We were a large party of 18 and got a last minute booking. We were put in the little party room at the back. We all really enjoyed our food and the roast dinners were delicious and big portions ( i didn't have one but those who did loved them). My halloumi burger came with proper home made chips. The staff were really kind and attentive. They were also well organised when it came to taking loads of separate payments correctly. Highly recommend.
