   Delicious Thai tapas. We tried 6 tapas dishes and one pad Thai which was the perfect amount of food for 3 people. Highly recommend the pad Thai, moo grop (pork belly) and gai satay. Sadly the chicken wings were a little bit chewy and dry but all the other dishes were perfect and the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

   This is by far the best authentic Thai restaurant we’ve tried so far, after visiting Zaap, Giggling Squid, and Tah Tien. Our ranking would be: Phrankhon > Giggling Squid > Zaap > Tah Tien. When it comes to food quality and value for money, Phrankhon is clearly the winner. Their lunch offer includes two Thai dishes plus rice for just £19.50, and every dish is packed with rich flavours. We ordered the deep-fried duck leg, pork belly, sea bass, and Tom Yum prawn soup — all tasted authentic and were beautifully cooked. We also changed a portion of rice to sticky rice for a bit of a difference. Our server, Afta, was really sweet and friendly. The restaurant itself is small and charming, with a cosy, boutique feel that makes the experience genuinely warm and hospitable. We’ll definitely be going back soon to try their dinner menu.

   Everything about this place is perfect. The service from all the staff was excellent, the building itself is quaint and wonderful and the food! I was excepting it to be good based on the reviews but it's probably the best Thai meal I have had, full stop. The tapas style dishes were extremely generous portions, and special mention to the massaman, it was extremely tasty. All the dishes tasted fresh. Two adults, including alcohol for less than £100 is very good value. We will return.

   Always such a pleasure to eat here! There’s a fantastic variety of dishes, with a mix of tapas and larger plates to suit everyone. This time we had sticky beef and rice, pork belly bites, prawns, prawn crackers, fried veggies and chicken skewers – all absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is set in the cutest old building in York, and sitting upstairs by the window makes for such a lovely spot. The staff are always so kind and friendly, and happy to give recommendations, which makes the whole experience even better.

   Very tasty Thai tapas. Particularly enjoyed the duck spring rolls, chicken wings and the beef panang. The wine was also nice. It was very cold when we visited, and our food unfortunately got cold quite quickly. The rice was a bit hard for me personally, and I think the curries should come with rice for the price.

   Great food! Didn't have a reservation but the accommodated us. They were quite busy so didn't get a chance to check back on the food was the only issue. It didn't cone out as hot as u thought but it was still very clearly fresh and really really tasty. Great little find!

   Just to reiterate- This is tapas style (small plating) Thai food, and it fully lived up to expectations. Definitely more generous portion size than normal tapas. The menu has plenty of variety and the taste was authentic. Would have liked to see more dessert options but the ones they had were delicious! The restaurant is small and quaint and they were busy but food came out quickly and we enjoyed our meal here, …one of our top meals in York.
