   We have eaten at Pesto Widnes several times over the years. It was always warm, welcoming with fabulous tapas. We went as a party of 5 for lunch on Monday 8th Dec ’25. What a disappointment!. It was cold, so cold, inside, with one person actually keeping their coat on for the entire meal. We asked for the heating to be turned up but when we had finished and were leaving it was just as cold. Not only that but cold draughts as well, which seemed to be coming in from the kitchen area. The 5 seats at the table were a mix of different heights, and 2 of them were so low you could not eat food on the table while sat on them – it is hard to think positively of any establishment when that is the attention given to your arrival. We (discreetly) swopped them over. The interior itself looked to us like it needed a complete renovation, with tired looking paintwork, tired looking interior. The food was mediocre with some dishes going back untouched. The service, however, was satisfactory. It was so different from the Pesto we knew, so disappointing.

   We’ve had lunch there. Clean environment and nice staff. I like the carbonara and risotto ball, although the sauce of bolognese spaghetti can be thicker. £25.73 for two lunch sets plus two drinks.

   Just had a super Birthday Lunch today here. The setting is ideal,the variety on the menu was fine and much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal.
