Wasnt sure what to expect - but the decor has been updated to a modern restaurant setting. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was ok. The menu sounded great. Unfortunately the dish wasn't executed as it should be, with my eggs inedible as over cooking meant they were like a rubber ball and I couldn't even cut it with my knife. Im sure the staff would have changed it, but I disnt say anything on this occasion. It was quiet as we were the only customers in.

Traveled with family for a short visit (4 days) to St Helens and the surrounding area. Had a wonderful stay. Was greeted by friendly staff (Paige and Jacob) who were very helpful and informative as I had a lot of questions. I unfortunately fell sick, however the staff at the inn were friendly and accommodating. Went the extra mile to help me into town to get to the pharmacy (thank you Jacob). We had a total of 5 meals here (as I couldn't be asked to take a trip out) and they were all delicious. We were lucky enough to be here during a menu change so we had a lot of variety. Would recommend.

The food was really good but not worth the value. It took a while to get served as staff just seemed to be disinterested except for Ella Foster, truly as asset for the service. We planned to stay one night but the room we were checked into, whilst nicely decorated, wasn't very clean. There was dust on the table and remote and the bathroom was in bad condition. Ended up checking out the same night as shower wasn't working either but there wasn't really anyone available to try and get it sorted. The secure door to separate the restaurant from the hotel above wasn't working which meant anyone could really come in and out. I booked through expedia and did request to raise a complaint however it seemed the hotel wasn't reachable despite Expedia attempting over 3 days, sadly won't recover the money back despite not being able to use the service. Won't recommend as accommodation but decent for a meal.

I'm leaving this 5 star review for the chef because 6 of us had the best Christmas Dinner we ever had last night it was absolutely delicious. We all had 3 courses for £30, worth every penny. Staff who helped me with booking, serving and on the bar were just lovely. Very nice surroundings. Drinks a bit expensive but they are everywhere. Bus stop right outside which is handy. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening

We went for a drink in the afternoon. Ordered beer and cocktails with special offer. The beer was flat and the cocktails were bland.

What a fantastic experience have been to a lot of bottomless experience in the past and I can say by far the best one out there. Usually you looking for the staff to come and fill your glasses or get the next drink in.Well not here there are the ones looking to see how far down on the drinks you are to get the next ones lined up for you. I would like take a special mention to both Sue who looked after us and the the manageress what a operation they have and also the staff both should be very proud off them. I am very realistic in the ratings I give an the food we go and service rater 10 out of 10.
