So the first time I visited Kayal the food didn't really impress me, we ordered the weekday menu's business lunch and the chicken biriyani - I didn't find the dishes impressive but they were really good value for money so any office workers or those looking for weekday lunch deals, it's good value for money. For dessert we opted for the pazham nirachathu with ice cream. The interiors are quite nice and spacious, and the staff were very polite and friendly too. As a recommendation, please play some Malayalam songs representing the state than other languages. That being said, we visited some friends and we ordered food from Kayal which turned out to be really nice unlike my initial experience. There was beef roast and Thalasseri biriyani - the taste was good, I particularly liked beef roast. I don't know if it was authentic Thalasseri biriyani so I can't comment on that. Maybe my initial order was wrong but we have a number of friends who frequent this place so I will give it another go next time.

We visited Kayal Restaurant yesterday as a family of four, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Chef Joshi is truly outstanding β€” the flavours, especially in the biryani and lamb were some of the best we have ever had. A special thanks to Askoh, who took care of everything with such attention and warmth. His service made our visit even more memorable. Kayal has quickly become one of our favourite places. Highly recommended!

Happened to be travelling via west by fleet and found Kayal. Food was delicious that we had to come back next day to try other dishes. Staff friendly and warm.Good seating and nice ambience. First time we had appam, fish curry and duck roast- Appam was hot, soft and fluffy-complemented duck curry well. We took fish curry back home as takeaway and enjoyed with tranditional Kerala red rice. Next day we had Chicken and Fish biryani -huge portion size and well flavoured. Personally I prefer chicken in biryani with bones- but here they served boneless, but that doesn't affect the taste.

β€œAuthentic Flavours and Warm Hospitality” We visited Kayal as part of my daughter’s birthday weekend, and once again it didn’t disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, the ambience was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. This was actually my second time dining here, and I can confidently say I’ll be coming back again. A perfect spot for authentic Kerala flavours and a memorable dining experience.

Food is tasty and delicious. Prices are okay and portion size is also fine. We tried grilled fish where they had only option of tilapia,King fish curry, chicken biryani and appam. Appam was really nice and size was perfect. We enjoyed the food. Ambience was also good. We went with our 16 months daughter and they didn’t have any baby changing facilities so that was bit disappointing.

Kayal has the potential to be great. Menu reads well and the flavours are good. They rebranded a year or so back and now serve the curries in odd large-lipped bowls. This means you need a side plate to put your rice on. Value for money is really not up to par here though. I ordered the 'chefs signature' lamb curry, Β£16.45, "Tender cubes of lamb". But I only got a few small grisly pieces (see photo). The meen curry was better but at Β£17 before rice and breads it had better be! Bill was in the 60s for some poppadoms, 2 curries, one rice, one appam, two desserts and two half drinks. We pay less at our favourite Sri Lankan restaurant in central London...

This is a really great place to sample genuine authentic food from the south of India. I had sea bass stuffed with marinated prawns and its the best dish I've ever eaten. Portions are very good too! The appams were the best I've tasted. Service was excellent and no request was too much for the team at Kayal. I'll definitely be back and cannot recommend them enough.

The food is very delicious and the price is reasonable. The grilled fish as a starter is my favorite although it’s a bit spicy. The king prawn starter is also very nice. We ordered a main- chicken stew in coconut sauce, this is probably not the best main for strong taste people as it is quite mild. Compared with amazing starter the main is so so. In terms of the price this meal is definitely worth the value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, considering everything 5 out of 5 dining experience in this restaurant.
