Absolutely amazing staff really friendly. My sea bass meal was delicious but for £15 I expected a bit more . There were 4 tiny potatoes 2 smallish seabass a handful of peas and the creamy sauce . Next time I.ll get the roast dinner.! Much better value for money. ! My families meals looked much better . The cherry Eaton mess was very nice .

I have been visiting The Ship Inn for almost a year while working in the area and staying at the Premier Inn behind. The staff are always happy and helpful, I've never had a bad meal or service while in there. Menu has a good variety catering for most food tastes and preferences. Thank you to The Ship Inn team, keep up the great work you all put in...

Went for lunch the other day, with my daughters. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and polite staff. The food and service was very good. Will definitely be going again. I had gone off pub lunches because of their never changing menus. It was nice to have a few more choices.

Nicely decorated and laid out pub. 2 of us went for breakfast Enjoyed our food comprising of 1 large full english, 1 pancakes with maple cured bacon. They wasn't kidding describing the english breakfast as large! Food & coffee was served promptly with a smile. Donna & vicky made us feel very welcome. The pub only opened 10 mins before we arrived 1 other customer in just after 11am. By time we was leaving lunch trade had started, plenty people in and plenty more tables available. Atmosphere by then was warming up. Dog friendly pub, lovely 1 sat next to us

I never do pub reviews as the food is generally mediocre but you know what you're getting. Went tonight and the baby's sausages were cold in the middle and my wife received the worst rump steak I've ever encountered. This isn't even an exaggeration. 90% of it wasn't even edible and I can get through a tough steak. The staff were lovely and changed the sausage to nuggets which were hotter than the earth's core but their food was pretty shocking unfortunately.

Food (sandwiches) was fine. I ordered a point of ale (nice) but I also ordered a coffee and was told it would arrive. Five minutes later I went to the bay to ask and the woman admitted she had forgotten and would do it now. I walked back to our table and looked back to ser that she was serving the next man with four drinks. I went back another five minutes later to see her taking other people's food to tables. I asked another bar worker about my coffee and was told that she had to serve food but would be doing it now. A few minutes later it arrived. We felt very undervalued and our lunch was ruined.

Was surprised by the tastiness of the meals here. Had the katsu curry and enjoyed it. Lost a star as another meal I saw looked like it had quite a small portion. But the staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us considering we had booked ahead for a birthday meal.

Visited this pub while staying at the Premier Inn for 3 days. We were made to feel very welcome by Tracey and the team, who were really friendly and helpful. We soon got to meet the local customers in this very friendly pub and had a fabulous time. We are already planning another visit. Thanks for being so welcoming!
