“Great place. More like a large microbrewery than a pub. Limited selection of draft beers, but there's something for everyone. Service and staff are great, very friendly. Average prices for the area, and a nice little courtyard in the back and some unusual upstairs seating. A really nice place to visit.”
“Interesting place this. My choice of real ale, Conwy- Rampart, was in gr8 condition. Many of Shakespears' quotes adorn the walls, many still in use today. It was a stormy night on my visit, so not many customers were in, which was a shame!”
“Fantastic food, drink & entertainment at very reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended and I will definitely return soon.”
“Wow how welcoming I highly recommend such a lovely atmosphere and amazing locals thankyou for welcome zx”

“Had a family meal here for my mum’s 60th birthday, and the cookhouse team knocked it out of the park. Excellent food, brought out quickly, and the staff were exceptional. Would highly recommend!”
“Fantastic micropub great selection of beers and spirits and the best landlady any one could have and the best customers too”
“The setting is great, laid back yet high quality. Range of food and drinks are brilliant especially the cold coffees! Food is always high standard and served quickly. Staff are boss especially Danielle who always goes above and beyond.”
“Great bar with a superb selection of quality beers, wines and spirits. Beers and ciders are expertly kept with a regular rotation of real ales to choose from. Atmosphere is friendly and geared to conversation. Bar staff are lovely too.”
“I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much. I ate three courses of which the starter and main were huge portions but I couldn't stop as they were all so delicious and ate the lot. My dessert was basically ice cream with a rich toffee sauce and digestive biscuits crumblings over it, just enough to finish my meal off and all washed down with 2 glasses of house Merlot.”
“Really good bar. Great service and good range of drinks.”
“Chilled atmosphere. Great choice of drinks. Always very pleasant service.”
“Brilliant night out great place good people great staff”

“Amazing cocktails with a large choice of classics and specials always on offer too! Friendly staff, great atmosphere and ideal location if you want a drink before going into Liverpool. Couldn’t recommend enough, always go here as it’s the best bar in Rainhill”
“Food was very good and social distancing was excellent.”
“Lovely place for a well prepared meal. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Good value for money too.”
“The food here is fantastic and very tasty. The lamb chops and the ribs are really nice. The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and tend to your every need. Highly recommend. These are pictures from two different times.”
“My son has been in Alder Hey for nearly 3 weeks and my daughter had been missing me so I decided to take her the park and then for tea. The staff at treetops restaurant in Alder Hey are overall unfriendly and food is average so I decided to try The Wheatsheaf over the road from Alder Hey. It was brilliant the manager was super friendly and helpful, my daughter has additional needs and she was patient with her and listened to her not ignoring her in favour of the adult. I only ordered a kids meal (great price) and some onion rings, it came in good time and she enjoyed her burger, the ice cream fun was next level and she was so excited to see it she nearly tipped the table! I would much rather eat here with the friendly staff and nice food than in Alder Hey. If you're a parent head over here sometimes it's far better than Treetops!”
“Best pub in Rainhill. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Staff are excellent.”
“I was visiting the area and popped in to grab some food to takeaway, after it being recommended in a hair salon down the road. What lovely staff, what speedy service and what utterly delicious food. Highly recommended!”
“I am not sure if they served food. But the place was hopping. There was a Halloween party for the community, children and adults all dressed up. Fun afternoon.”
“Great little pub. Lovely Old fashioned pub with lig burner very cosy . Great staff and atmosphere. Darts and othergames. Nice little beer garden short walk to other great local pubs. Would definitely recommend and will be returning”
“Great bar friendly staff good selection of drinks”
“This restaurant offers a healthy dining experiencing in a peaceful and scenic place by a small lake. During my visit, I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious super food salad with cold salmon, and it did not disappoint. The fresh and healthy ingredients were the perfect complement to the nice view of the lake. Price is also excellent. One of the best things about this restaurant is the convenience of parking, making it easy to visit even if you're driving in. The ambiance of the place is clean and contemporary, with industrial decorations that create a unique and modern atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome and comfortable during my solo lunch. I was able to use my laptop for a while to send some work emails while waiting the food. I appreciated the attention to detail and care that the staff showed in ensuring my dining experience was enjoyable.”
“Traveled with family for a short visit (4 days) to St Helens and the surrounding area. Had a wonderful stay. Was greeted by friendly staff (Paige and Jacob) who were very helpful and informative as I had a lot of questions. I unfortunately fell sick, however the staff at the inn were friendly and accommodating. Went the extra mile to help me into town to get to the pharmacy (thank you Jacob). We had a total of 5 meals here (as I couldn't be asked to take a trip out) and they were all delicious. We were lucky enough to be here during a menu change so we had a lot of variety. Would recommend.”
“Lovely cooked breakfast, rooms clean, beds very comfy, staff friendly and helpful would definitely stay here again”
“Good place for some filling cafe food and good coffee too. Not expensive for a change.”
