“Been hearing good things about this little place so decided to try and I'm glad I did. Ordered the station breakfast and it was a top quality breakfast. Every item was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. The eggs Benedict with ham hock was also top class . The ham wasn't salty and flaked apart tender. And the coffee was freshly ground and tasted so fresh and tasty . The hot chocolate was not too sweet and didn't taste artificial just super creamy and comfy. The caramel and apple cake was amazing also. Try this place out and support you local business as worth every penny. Ps took a sausage roll for after and it was the best one around, if you remember rays the baker sausage rolls well very similar but bigger and meatier and not as salty . Boss with brown sauce.”
“Lovely cafe, so glad we found you! It's a little sad that our dog isn't welcome, but we'd visit again. The food was delicious, and the coffee you use is also very tasty.”
“The barista was lovely and pleasant and made a fab hot chocolate...I've had ones previously where it's been luke warm but this was nice an warm with plenty of marshmallows and cream...just what you need on a miserable rainy afternoon”
“I've been in several times over the past week as my husband has been in hospital and the staff there are amazing! It's always busy but they get through everyone effortlessly whilst still maintaining a high standard of customer service.”
“Myself and partner just had an americano and a toastie each. Normal service clean tables”
“Syed was so kind, friendly and welcoming - definitely recommend this place!”
“What a nice thing in such a bad place. The hospital it's self is lovely but when visiting a hospital it's usually not for a good reason. So to have some lovely and chatty staff making you smile as they serve you makes the experience a little more bearable. The coffee is good and the food is lovely too.”
“Been a while since I was here but have used it a few times. Prices are reasonable compared to most guest houses of similar size, rooms are kept clean and there's always a good supply of tea, coffee, milk etc as well. Good access from the M6 via the M62 link to st Helens, the route brings you to the traffic lights outside (You get there via Thatto Heath so you're just round the corner at the lights. The main car park is small, maybe a bit tight for a van, but there are a few extra spaces opposite the vehicle entrance just ask. Not sure about wheelchair access, there are no lifts, this is a former residential home so I'm sure there must be some kind of access. Dining room is on the first floor and breakfast is always plentiful with a choice of cereals for self service. The full English cooked is delicious and you actually see it being cooked through the serving hatch. There's a TV in each room and some rooms look out over the busy dual carriageway to Taylor park. There's usually a few staff around in the morning but check in etc is done by 1 lovely lass who's been there pretty much since the place opened. There are cameras all round the external sections, including the entrance and car park. I would choose Park View over the main hotel in town any day, love the place.”
“I had a fantastic experience at "The Railway Cafe." The food was truly delightful, and the service was exceptional. What made it even more special was the unexpected treat of a complimentary hash brown. This gesture displayed their commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff were amazing, providing friendly and attentive service throughout my visit. What's more, the prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering how expensive other eateries are in the local area. I highly recommend "The Railway Cafe" to anyone looking for a delicious meal, excellent service, and great value for money. It's definitely worth a visit!”
“Lovely little place to meet friends and have a bite to eat! I had the eggs benedict and a homemade scone with jam and cream and it was really nice. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I’d definitely go back again soon.”
“Found this little gem by accident. Great food, great prices & great sizes. No portion control here guys. Well worth a visit. We will be visiting again.”
“Good place for some filling cafe food and good coffee too. Not expensive for a change.”
