Had our Christmas dinner today with the family. Excellent service by all friendly staff! Atmosphere was great and the food was excellent! Planning on coming here again next Christmas. Only minor complaint is that I wish there was more Christmas music played.
We booked a Christmas meal here for a large group of 15. The service from Phil via the phone and Mark and the team on the actual day was absolutely brilliant- they couldn't do enough for us. So polite and so engaging!! thank you!!
Called up as a last minute Sunday lunch idea for a group of 4 adults and they were able to fit us in, even though it was really busy. We each had the carvery, ordered via the QR code at the table. I don't usually like doing this and staff said we could also order at the bar. The meal was absolutely amazing. Drinks arrived at the table while we were getting our food, which was great. The food had lots of flavour and the meats were so tender, not dry as some carvery meats can be. So much choice in the vegetables and it was all hot and fresh. Everything was labelled too. Great staff, very attentive and the atmosphere was fun with lots of conversations. Would highly recommend and will definitely go again.
Staff were absolutely lovely, service was excellent but carvery wasn't very nice, food was barely warm, dry and wasn't enjoyable at all. However, the desert was delicious as was the wine. Excellent value for money and the staff couldnt help enough, views from were we sat were delightful and lovely surroundings to work off our desert afterwards. It really was a lovely afternoon out, just a shame about the carvery .
Beautiful building, beautiful grounds. The staff where very attentive and polite. My carvery wasn't very good, hard sprouts, hard cauliflower, very under cooked roasted parsnips, and my new potatoes where hard in the middle. The turkey was delicious . The other people with me really enjoyed their meals,they didn't have the carvery. Price ,very reasonable. Parking very close . Outside tables. Disabled parking and good access. I will be trying again.
Not only is this building itself absolutely stunning but the staff (polite and helpful) and the food is simply perfect. On this day I had a carvery, all the meats looked much better than most places; and the sides selection was more than standard too. Everything ran smoothly and staff where very helpful indeed, seating was swift and without problems. The interior of the build is a perfect addition to having your meal and drinks, giving a nice warm and homely ambience. Family's , solo and couples , everyone is welcome and the facilities are also very good. A park outside for children, lots of space outside for dog walking and lots of outdoor seating. Over all a lovely experience, if your after food out and about , don't hesitate to choose this location, you won't be disappointed.
Regular diner here anyway but first time booking for Christmas and it did not disappoint. Really fantastic job and well done to the staff for giving up their Christmas Day with their families to work. Food was immaculate as always and atmosphere was really enjoyable, Will be booking here for Christmas again! The food was quickly brought to the table as well considering how busy it was. Only thing I would say is the queue was really big for the carvery but that is to be expected on Christmas Day.
Two big plus points for this place. It's in a lovely historic building. And it wasn't a bun fight to get food like it often is at a cauvery on a Sunday. In fact it's probably the best carvery I've been to. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Good family pub with a stately grandure (in a former manor house), located in the park with good sized pub gardens, off road parking & loads of outside seating. Only came in for a drink & ended up staying for a meal, the Carvery looked too good not to try. Stacy the duty managed fitted us in, even though they where busy. The Carvery was faultless & my.wifes meal from the main menu, arrived hot & very tasty. Would recommend, but probably best to book ahead if your wanting a meal to get a table & avoid disappointment.
