Vanessa at The Woodlands Pub in Ellesmere Port was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. She made sure everything was spot on without being overbearing, and her positive attitude really added to the experience. Great service like hers is what makes you want to come back. Credit to the pub.

Popped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday and the food was awesome! We had the fish and chips and a burger. The fish was crispy and burgers were juicy and both were piping hot. Highly recommended popping in

Nice pub, nice clientele but I'm sorry to say, the food isn't great. I ordered a 'rare' sirloin. The first one came back well done...and it was tough - I think a chamois leather would have been more tender. The staff were very nice and gave me another - it was the same again. To be fair to the staff who were lovely by the way, offered me another but the second steak was just the same; I suggested, bluntly that the chef should maybe find a new vocation. Needless to say, I handed it back. Again, the the staff were very apologetic and offered me a full refund. As I ate all the trimmings, I felt cheeky so I suggested that I'll meet them halfway so a 50% refund would suffice. I never got the refund. It wasn't about the money so I didn't ask for it - maybe a lack of attentiveness on the staff's part. Whenever someone complains, they're automatically seen as a "dick" or someone who's trying to get a free meal. That's certainly not the case with me. Whilst I appreciate I'm not in a restaurant, cooking a steak to one's liking isn't rocket science and the fact that despite being offered a full refund and only accepting half and not even getting that - some would say, that's taking the proverbial. Needless to say, I will not get eating here again.

Had a lovely date night dinner. I had 'Philly cheese' grilled beef steak with skin on fries, grilled tomato and mushrooms on a bed of sizzling onions with a peppercorn sauce

We went here for a family celebration on a Tuesday night and we couldn't have been treated any better by Rachel and her team. The food is good and reasonably priced. The drinks (including cocktails) inexpensive and the staff made me and my family feel very special. Thank you for a lovely evening

We popped in for a quick bite. Only been once before a long time ago. Was impressed. It was welcoming, cosy and busy. Which for me is always a sign of a good establishment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food range for vegetarians and meat eaters was good. As well as light bites and full stuffed meals. I had vegetarian Mac and Cheese which was tasty, friend had Fish and Chips which said was tasty. Would definitely and will be going again for food, as well as an evening out. Could even be a local. Really enjoyed and would definitely recommend.

This was a lovely surprise being at the bottom end of the Mitchell and Butler's eateries (a sizzler) usually cheap and cheerful and it was but it was actually first class. The staff were delightful and efficient, as was the service. More importantly the food was well cooked and presented. I thoroughly enjoyed dining there and would have no reservations about going back. Well done the Woodland.

I went on Wednesday night with a friend, we had starters, mains and dessert. The starters were lovey and just the right size, not too much. We both had Fish & chips. The portions were good sizes and the fish was nice. The mushy peas were a bit watery and not great. Overall, plenty of choice on the menu, nice food and good value. Will go again.

We had 6oz rump steak sizzler and the mega mixed grill. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and were melt in the mouth. The staff were really friendly and you could tell that they enjoyed working there. All in all it was good value for money and a great atmosphere
