I really enjoyed everything about this place. They have different style rooms depending on where you prefer to eat. I ordered the goats cheese and beetroot as the starter which was fantastic. I got the side of the tomato beef ragu pasta which was amazing but exactly the right size for my small appetite that day - they also brought a whole bowl of Parmesan for me to help myself. For dessert I ordered the brownie and doughballs with Nutella which came with icecream. I personally was not a fan of the brownie or the ice cream I wish there had been the option to just have a bowl of the doughballs as I had seen in other reviews as these were amazing. The tables were quite close together and it was really quite loud. I hope they invest in some sound absorbing panels. I would recommend and will be coming back. I have been again since and the pasta was still fantastic. We also ordered the mushroom risotto however this was lacking a bit of flavour, the walnuts were a nice touch. I do have to say the staff are fantastic about making adaptions to meals to intolerances.

Nice place for occasional visit. Maze plate was very good. Sticky toffee was delicious. Thank you.

First time eating here. Attentive staff. Had a little issue with the dish. The chef adjusted the dish to taste, and it was perfect. Generous portions. The tiramisu was about the best I've had! Served with delicious coffee ice-cream. Will definitely be back!

Gastro Pub restaurant in Letchmore Heath, near Watford. Large menu, with a variety of options. I struggled to find one option I wanted to eat. Eventually decided on the rump steak with fries, which was overpriced @ £25.00 and very bland. Vegetarian options were virtually non existent. Salad or Vegetarian Wellington, which was stodgy. Poor experience and not worth the money @ £34.00 per head, without a starter.

Couldn’t rate this place higher honestly. I came here on a whim because I was charging my van thinking it was a normal pub; it’s not… It’s an amazing restaurant but with that homey, warm, busy feel like your local pub but without the sticky floors! I ordered the food thinking it was going to be pub grub (sorry guys), it literally came like a Michelin Star meal for typical pub prices - and I’m not exaggerating in the slightest! My server (blonde lady, front of house) was extremely attentive and made my time enjoyable! I watched her greet all the newcomers like they were regulars! Had the Soy and Mirin Glazed Salmon with a side of Truffle Fries.

Brilliant pub & restaurant, local to Radlett and Watford. This cute pub is located down the lanes from the Round Bush area. I had been here many years ago and the ambience and friendliness was still there but even better. It has a traditional pub feel but excellent restaurant quality food. My Partner had the Fish & Chips, he's from New Zealand and he said that the fish and chips were the best he'd tasted since he'd been in the UK! I had the bangers and mash, which were delicious. We shared a crumble for desert and that too was superb. The staff were very friendly, even recommending similar wines to that which we'd chosen, so we could try that next time we came in, which of course we will be doing! Dog friendly in the snug (book accordingly) and plenty of covered outdoor tables, for taking the dog (or kids) in the summer. Plenty of parking, good car park. Just a footnote, there are two pubs very close together in the same area starting with "The Three.....", there's this one and there's The Three Horseshoes. Both very good, but just be mindful that you're booking and turning up at the right one Lol!

We had an excellent dinner at The Three Compasses early in in the week. The staff were excellent - being attentive at all the right times: quite an art! I spent quite a few hours there celebrating with some colleagues. We started on nibbles and ended with tasty dessert: each course was generous, tasty and cooked to perfection. Thank you to the team there. It was not my first time, and it certainly won’t be the last!

Great meal - good wine and beer selection. I would pass on the “pate” it’s really just liverwurst. Otherwise the meat pie was delicious and my friend had Nutella donuts that I tried and enjoyed as well. A good place for great food, even if the location is a bit out of the way and in the suburbs.
