The decor is calming and beautifully presented. The menu and specials board has something for everyone tastes. The service was 10/10 and the waitresses were attentive and had a pleasant manner. We were made feel very welcome. The food was delicious. Will definitely return.

Attended for a very late celebration lunch after a long day. Fillet medallion was cooked absolutely perfectly, triple cooked chips were ok. Service was fabulous. Restaurant was very clean and furnished beautifully. Small niggle, reminder to the kitchen team, you have an open pass, voices travel.

Visited today for my mums birthday - we booked last minute after a change of plans. We had 3 courses and every single one was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday roast and the sticky toffee! The service was great - special thanks to the two young guys (I didn’t catch their names but a really young lad and the barman with plaits) for looking after us. We will be back!

Excellent pub & restaurant, local to Radlett and Watford. This traditional pub is located down the lanes from the Round Bush area. Apparently about a year ago, at the back of the olde worlde pub area that still retains its historic look with a welcoming fire in the hearth, they have built an additional restaurant and have invested in fantastic service staff and a chef. The food was first class, along with the service and choice of food and wine. I had the cod mornay, which was delicious (pic attached) and my Partner had the cod fillet, which was perfectly cooked too. We will certainly be back to visit this gem of a find. Dog friendly in the bar and a nice outdoor area for taking dogs in the summer. There's a few parks at the front of the pub and around the surrounding road area. Just a footnote, there are two pubs in the same area starting with "The Three....", this one and The Three Compasses, both excellent - just make sure you've booked and turned up at the same one Lol!

Went there to celebrate my birthday with my family. What a lovely evening. Food was great, lovely wine(Viognier) and the service was excellent. The manager there is fantastic, he really looked after us and I must say I cannot praise him enough. That is what service should be like in a world where a lot of businesses have taken their eye off the ball regarding looking after the customer. Thank you again for a lovely evening.

Yes, they have done wonders to the old pub. Brimming over with atmosphere. Tables were a little close for an intimate evening but well laid with good cutlery, glasses and tableware. Service was pretty good. May be a little too much on the chummy side rather that the differential attitude preferred by old geysers like me. However, the manager was an exception. He really understood table service and treated his customers in an appropriate manner. Finally, we come to the food. Sad to say this was the only spoiler of the evening. Neither of our two mains were acceptable, the lamb being overcooked to death. But, to end on a positive note the broccoli was really well cooked. Al dente with an interesting topping.

Came here for mother's day since they have refurbished and re-opened. The decor and layout looks absolutely amazing having extended the restaurant and created a new garden space at the side. They've certainly invested a lot into the venue to make it a success. The restaurant is in the process of a 'soft launch', so they have a limited menu and was relatively quiet, so the management, bar staff and waiter were extremely attentive and friendly the minute we arrived. On to the meal itself most of the people in my party chose the soup, but I had the mushroom, stilton and horse radish starter which was really tasty. I was worried that the Stilton would be overpowering, but wasn't the case. The soup apparently varied in temperature, with some people having it pipping hot, and others being luke warm. Main course was a little disappointing as we all had the roast lamb or chicken. For £18 I was expecting a bit more of a wow. It arrived with one Yorkshire pudding, three potatoes and a carrot and a side of green cabbage and green beans. The chicken tasted lovely, but I prefer my carrots a little al dente and this was a bit soft. The dish needed more Yorkshires, some swede mash or pigs in blankets just to elevate it a bit more. Didn't feel it justified the price. The dessert was the highlight. The ginger sponge cake with coconut ice cream was an absolute delight, and so was the chocolate fondant. Overall the venue looked beautiful, set in a great picturesque location. The staff couldn't have been nicer, but the main course was a bit of a low point in the meal, which was a shame. Therefore I'm giving it 3 stars. I will go back once they are fully open and the expand the menu.
