I’ve never been here before but it was brilliant. I had the railway lamb curry and it was superb. Often when you go to places that do lamb curry they use cheap cuts but this was seriously good. The lamb was succulent and very meaty. The curry was really well seasoned and had great depth of flavour. I ordered collection so can’t comment on inside other than it was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly as I arrived and they got my food. The price was excellent and I really enjoyed the naan that I ordered with my curry. This will definitely be my go-to spot in New Malden for curries now.

Take away order- mixed grill was dry, lamb chewy and lacked flavour, all had very little marination. Paneer kadai lacked depth, as if the paneer was quickly shallow fried and chucked in the tomato onion sauce, reminded me of the old lal akash when I used to go 15 years ago, was hoping under new management the flavours would be better, left disappointed! Maybe would be a bit nicer fresh in the restaurant, however I live 2 minute drive away so can’t imagine too much flavour and texture could have diminished in that time! Search for a good indian in 3 sq miles continues!

Came here with my family and we all really enjoyed the food at Lal Akash! The Butter Chicken Tikka was definitely one of the best I’ve had. I also tried the Chicken Tikka Katai, which was fresh, nd perfectly spiced. The spice level was just right for us, especially for Indian taste buds. My parents liked it too, which says a lot! The portions were generous and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. Overall, a great experience with tasty food and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!

10/10 would absolutely recommend!!!! I popped into Lal Akash again and it never disappoints. Tried the Butter Chicken this time and honestly it was incredible. Super creamy, rich and full of flavour. The naan was also really soft and perfect for soaking up the sauce. Everyone there is super friendly and makes you feel at home straight away. It’s got a nice buzz without being too loud, and you can tell a lot of locals love the place too. Easily one of the best Indian spots around New Malden.

Had another great meal at Lal Akash. This time I went for the Railway Lamb Curry and it was spot on, tender lamb, rich sauce and just the right amount of spice. You can tell everything’s made with care. The staff were lovely as always, and the place has such a warm, welcoming feel. It’s the kind of restaurant where you instantly feel comfortable. Definitely one of my favourite spots in the area.

Every time I have visited this gem of a restaurants, the service has been great, superb food and fairly priced. More restaurants should take a leaf out of their book and remember that if you have a passion for your work and care about your customers your life richer. Chain restaurants are failing because they only care about profits. I am fed up of places that serve up underwhelming food and service is robotic. Treat and pay your staff well and the rewards follow

We regularly use Lal akash. Specifically, we collected a takeaway on Tuesday evening. The food was tasty and very well made. The chef was extremely friendly and even made a point of trying to call us to let us know that the food was ready for collection so that it would not become cold. Well worth a visit.

We went here for an evening meal. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The guy that served us was pretty miserable and spoiled the evening. It was like he did not want to be there. The service was quiet slow as well. I would give it another go though, because the food was really tasty.

Lal Akash is a simple Indian restaurant that also provides a takeaway service. During my visit there was no alcohol served (they were not licensed) but customers are welcome to bring their own.
