We had lovely food, wasn't cheap Β£50 for two main courses and a drink but we really loved the food esp the rice flavoured with saffron, the owner was lovely and we loved the little alley way where it was placed with all the quirky shops, little bit of music would be nice but we were the only ones there so we didn't mind

Ordered the Fasoulia (lamb and beans in tomato stew), which was perfectly hearty especially on a chilly summerβs day. The owner is very friendly and hospitable, making this meal feel so cosy and warm! A lovely meal, would highly recommend

The experience at this restaurant was by far one of my favourites during my 7-month stay in London. Abu Maher is a lovely, welcoming, and kind restaurant owner who makes you feel as if you've come to your grandparentsβ house to enjoy delicious, home-cooked food. The ingredients are fresh, and he prepares all the dishes from scratch himself. Everything tasted amazing. He even insisted that we not tip him because we were students and we couldn't persuade him otherwise! Donβt be put off by the slightly hidden location or by having to wait a little for your orderβAbu Maher works alone and takes great care to ensure every dish is perfect. The wait is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend!

Amazing food, Abu-Maher is a very friendly and welcoming host, good service, special tastes, and fair prices! Will come back :) We took Lamb Kofta, Yakhen Lahm, Hummus, and Knafeh. Delicious!

Delicious Syrian food made with great ingredients and care (eg use of saffron in sauces). Particularly recommend the baba ghanoush and the Mashi (very unusual, Iβve never seen this before in the UK). Maher is also a super friendly, charismatic host. Strongly recommend.

If you get there at 12 noon and the door's locked, don't fear. Just call the number on the menu and the kind chef will run down and open shop for you. When we visited it was just him in the kitchen, so you can't expect the food to be served instantly, but it's well worth the wait. Every dish was made with such love. The hummus was incredibly silky and served with warm flatbreads. We had a creamy lamb dish - how does one get lamb that tender? The saffron chicken and rice stays in my head till today, sizzling, crispy and so juicy. Halfway through we needed some greens and ordered the salad, and the chef produced a beautiful chopped salad with pomegranate seeds and three colours of peppers. If you are in need of some warmth and loving in London come here and eat.

I am a regular customer to Queensway Market, and finallt I had my first-time Syrian food experience. This lovely home-like place didnβt let me down at all! My friend and I ordered several fishes, and we were super impressed by the smoothness of the hommus and the tenderness of the slow-cooked lamb with yogurt sauce. The rice was the highlight, we were genuinely surprised at the enormous amount of saffron inside it. The owner was incredibly kind to show us his saffron, and he was so hospitable that he offered us with a plate of aromatic Syrian dessert. The most important thing is that we sense his passion for his culture in every dish. It was a very pleasant dining experience. We hope to come back again with our friends!

Had a late lunch at Abu Maher. We got the hummus and the curry chicken - both were amazing. I especially enjoyed the rice and the curry. Portions were really big as well, which made the price really reasonable. The owner was very hospitable, bringing out new food out for us to try. It was a very enjoyable experience.
