My first ever experience with Ethiopian cuisine, and I was super impressed. We shared the Zeret Surprise (a platter meant for two, but it worked well for four of us as we ordered a few extra dishes), including Ethiopian-style chicken, shuro bequanta, and katenga. The service was excellent: attentive, warm, and friendly throughout. They were also great at accommodating gluten intolerances, which we really appreciated. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Incredible food! Super wholesome environment, really lovely staff. We got the Zeret Surprise, a mix of meat and veggie. Superb. Love it, can't wait to come back!

Absolutely amazing!!!!! I was visiting a friend in London, I actually live in Oxford and my friend suggested this amazing restaurant. Food is amazing, we shared the house vegan choice for 2 - very good portion! Now, every time I come to London, I have to stop by and have their amazing food!

I travelled a long way to Zeret to try Ethiopian food after seeing all the amazing reviews, and Iβm so glad I didβit was absolutely worth it. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The lovely lady who served us took the time to explain each dish and even showed us the best way to enjoy them, which made the experience even more special. We started with the Katenga bread, a perfect appetizer with just the right hint of spice, paired beautifully with the complimentary tea. As a South Indian, I found the injera surprisingly familiarβits texture and tang reminded me of dosa, and I loved how well all the dishes balanced and complemented the sourness of the bread. I never thought Iβd appreciate lentils this much, but they were truly delicious. Zeret exceeded my expectations, and Iβll definitely be going back. Highly recommended!

Went here for my birthday today, excellent service and lovely cuisine. The owners are very friendly and attentive, the food was irresistible and tasty. I would particularly recommend the kategna, surprise platter and the Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Would come again.

Excellent dinner in this Ethiopian restaurant. Iβm quite a fan of Ethiopian food and have been trying some places but this is definitely the best I tried. Every single dish on a sharing plate was really flavorful. The service was extremely kind and friendly, and the price was also great for London. Very much recommend this place. My rating: 4.4.

Don't let the slightly dingy building that it is in put you off - this place is utterly charming, the staff were lovely, the interior is cozy (loved the fresh flowers) and very clean. If you've never eaten Ethiopian food before, don't worry you will get all the help you need from the amazing staff. The menu is quite short (that's a good thing) and sensibly priced. We had no real idea what to order but got all the help we needed. Oh, and the most important bit... The food was totally delish!

I had a wonderful experience here in August. I went for my birthday and they were very kind and liaised with a friend to bring out a birthday cake he brought from outside. The food is delicious, full of flavour and spices. The injera was really tasty (no sourness) and the had Tej (honey wine)! We did complain about a dish and they were very apologetic offering to replace; we were so full we declined- and they took it off the bill. Great food and even better service! I will be back.

Been meaning to come here for ages and finally did! This platter was amazing - great value for money between the two of us and I was gutted I was too full to finish it, as it was delicious. The honey wine is also lovely! A great Ethiopian experience.

2nd time in my life trying Ethiopian food and boy did it not disappoint! Despite being really busy the service was fast and attentive, food was really tasty and unique - if youβre either vegan or vegetarian youβll have a lot of options. For the meat lovers thereβs a few options and all of them are good. Highly recommended!
