   We plan our trip around the opening times of mamma mia, we wouldn’t book a stay in York on a Sunday or Monday as mamma mia is closed and we always want to come here for our dinner. This restaurant has been constantly consistent with the food, each time we visit York we choose this restaurant as it never disappoints. The food is tasty, good value for money and the staff are excellent. Support independent! Far better than any chain.

   We decided to drop in here for our evening meal on the off chance and I am so glad we did, such a Beautiful little restaurant. Staff were so friendly. We had food from the specials boards which was Devine. Priced very reasonable too. Service was quick and efficient.

   I had a wonderful dinner at Mamma Mia. It's got a great central location. It's a genuine Italian family business. The food was delicious and we weren't kept waiting. The service was friendly and excellent. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The menu is reasonably priced. And when I left, I accidentally left my hat behind, which has sentimental value. I was only visiting York. I don't live there, but when I messaged Mamma Mia and explained I'd accidentally left my hat, they very sweetly posted it to me and wouldn't let me pay the postage! Honestly couldn't be more grateful and the next time I'm in York I will be eating there again.

   We love this restaurant! We think it is the best Italian restaurant in York. The food is so tasty, the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is cosy. I'd highly recommend a visit. We especially like the tomato and garlic pizza bread.

   Cosy, traditional Italian restaurant on Gillygate. Had a really nice meal, the pizza was delicious and the tiramisu was divine. Service was relaxed but attentive and the restaurant had a nice lively atmosphere. Would definitely go again

   Just popped our head in here at 9pm off the cuff and although they were busy they had room for us. WOW ! Food was lovely , authentic Italian cuisine and authentic Italian portions, amazing deserts the kids were blown away and we all had a lovely meal . Eat here you won't regret it .
