Went with family as always for Xmas meal. To say we were disappointed was a understatement. We have always had a lovely meal & service, unfortunately I cannot say that on this occasion. The roast potatoes were definitely reheated or kept under heat lamp all day, couldn't cut them. Carrots were raw on half of the plates. We all decided it was best not to have a desert. Will not be going back. Could go on, but won't.

Recently visited for an afternoon/evening for my friends wedding. The upstairs room was set out beautifully. We had a choice of 2 pies and pulled beef lasagne. Both steak and ale pie and pulled beef lasagne were delicious with home made chips. Great location but could do with an extra sign as you head off the slip road from the expressway that the entrance is off the slip road as the black sign wasn't noticeable until we'd passed it and had to go round. Will be back for the food again!

Soooooooooo disappointing! My fish was old, the beans weren’t destrung, the roast was bland and the yorkshire pudding shouldn’t have been served (Aracini Balls were good) Service was awful, barely anyone was here but took half hour to order and receive our dessert. Staff here need to stop gossiping and looking at their phones and DO their jobs. Poor, poor, poor. Stay away if you want a nice meal..

I recently attended an event at The Celtic Arms in Northop with members of Hawarden Masonic Hall, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. From start to finish, the service was exceptional β€” attentive, professional, and delivered with genuine warmth. The setting itself is stunning, offering a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances elegance with comfort. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and full of flavour, with every course exceeding expectations. It’s clear that real care and attention go into both the menu and the overall guest experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the evening ran smoothly, creating an environment where everyone felt relaxed and well looked after. It truly made the event a memorable occasion for all who attended. I cannot recommend The Celtic Arms highly enough. Whether for a special event, a gathering, or simply a meal out, it is a venue that delivers excellence on every level.

Delicious food & cocktails and great service. We came here as a small group and everything was perfect. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff were lovely ☺️ I had the sweet & sour chicken as well as the peach and honey crumble. Absolutely loved both dishes and the pina colada was so tasty I had to get a second!

Food average/didn't really taste of much and probably one of the most expensive meals I've had in the area. Half standard pub food, half trying to do something a bit fancier but not really getting it right. Service very slow but that suited us because we were out for a family catch up. We split the bill, paid Β£30 added service charge and then were told told that there was 45p outstanding on the bill which was pretty crazy. Worth saying that our waitress was very lovely.

6 of us ate here for my Birthday on 2nd January 3 course menu including a drink - Β£21.95. Excellent. Only thing better than the food quality was the quality of service from the staff. First class

An excellent foody place with its own golf course and stunning grounds, we went there for a christening and (on a separate occasion) a funeral. They have a great space and the food was really nice, we'll definitely book it again for future christenings, birthdays, wedding receptions, religious celebrations, book clubs, paper company conventions, and of course funerals.

Came here on a Saturday evening where I did not make any table booking reservation. I was lucky to be able to get a table here at such short notice. It’s located in a very nice golf club resort. They have very nice selection of gin for those who want to give a try. Quite nice presentation on the food. Though I prefer a bigger steak portion but that’s my preference. Overall good experience!
