I loved this place! I'm surprised it doesn't have a thousand reviews on Google. My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday and found it to be a relaxing, non-hectic spot. he's vegetarian, and I'm sensitive to spice, and they were happy to accommodate us with excellent options. The food was high quality, the portions were generous, and I would definitely recommend it!

The owner was so nice. This was our first time trying Ethiopian food she explained everything to us and even let us try their local alcohol made of honey. 10/10 experience the food was amazing and the service was also amazing!

Exceptionally affordable yet delicious food. We went early on a Friday night. It was quiet, so it was no problem to walk in without reservation. The menu lacks descriptions so won't make see if you don't know the names of the dishes (which was the case for us). So we just asked for a mixed platter to share. We were given a delicious array of vegetarian dishes with plenty of extra injera bread. We were left full and so went to settle. I couldn't believe it when they only charged us Β£13.50!! To provide good food that feeds two big appetites for that price deserves 5 stars.

My daughter myself and 8year granddaughter attended this restaurant for dinner. We were greeted at the door and although we did not have a reservation we we were seated in a nice comfortable spot. These is a variety of African and west Indian dishes on the menu. The dishes we selected were delicious. I order fish but did not like the way it was prepared not any fault of the cook just my personal preference. The rest of the food was good. My granddaughter had ice cream after the meal and could not finish it as it was a generous portion. The bill was not extortionate and the service charges were reasonable. Food very filling.

We had a lovely time here. We went in and asked for a selection of food for one veggie and one meat-eater and were served a huge plate with at least six different things that were all vegan and yummy! The meat option was delicious, too. The chef was very friendly and helpful and came out to speak to us about the different foods we had. We really enjoyed our meal - it was very tasty and great value for money!

Mamaβs restaurant is an absolute gem in this area. A great family atmosphere accompanies delicious, nutritious and authentic Ethiopian food made with love and care. Very kind and friendly staff with a hospitable atmosphere. And, the music is always sublime! As a regular, I recommend this spot to all my friends and it is always a joy to introduce new people to my favourite restaurant!

My new βlocal go-toβ takeaway spot. They are prepared for those who are unfamiliar with Ethiopian food like I was- no menu was handed over, our group of four was just asked βhow many vegans, how many meat?β We went for two vegan, two meat, and none of us were disappointed after sharing the spoils. We got it on the way home from having a couple of drinks at βThe Palmβ after being somewhat underwhelmed by their menu, namely the price/portion size ratio on offer there. The pancake-like bread that came with the meal was incredible- freshly made (1 per person, and nearly two feet wide!!) we would break a piece off and use it instead of cutlery. This aerated bread mops up any flavoursome juices while the hint of citrus it carried really lifted the flavours of the rest of the food. Four people with huge appetites and we still had leftovers, and it really wasnβt too heavy at all. The price tag is great, too. Β£40-Β£45 for all 4 people. If you get bored of the pub food next door, or just fancy a takeaway on the way home, I heartily recommend this friendly place which welcomed and nourished a group who were unsure of what to order.

Weβve had takeaway from Mamas twice now, both times have have left us excited to go back! The food it so flavourful and we loved trying eating the Ethiopian way! Mamas is not on any of the takeaway sites so we called up and it was ready to collect in 10mins! Menu is very simple (please correct me if Iβm wrong) but you can order either meat or vegetarian options. Mama will also ask how many people and prepare the perfect amount of injera (flatbread/ pancake)! Highly recommend x
