My wife and I had chicken roast, it was so piled up on the plate you could not identify what was on it. The vegetables were over cooked, the roast potatoes under cooked and not crispy. I would suggest the Chef visits a few of your pub/restaurant competition in your area and see how they present a well cooked meal, that does not have to be piled high.

Good traditional style pub in a rural setting. Stone flags, beams, log fire, dog friendly. Sufficiently remote from urban centres to discourage the riff raff, but the flip side is you need to drive or get a taxi. Food very good, hearty not fancy. Decent beer eg Timothy Taylor. Friendly atmosphere and polite attentive staff. Not much to dislike.

Lovely place has a traditional setting with historical charm. We had a family meal here last evening the food portions are generous and good quality! Staff friendly, kind attentive and quick service. The pub offers free WiFi outdoor seating, dog friendly, popular spot for walkers and cyclists.

The Irby Mill is a charming, dog-friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere. They boast a great selection of local ales, for those who indulge. While I didnβt sample the food, it came highly recommended by others. The service was great, and my Guinness was surprisingly well-pouredβbetter than I expected! A lovely spot for a relaxed drink.

Havenβt eaten at the Irby Mill for a number of of years regretfully. The wifeβs away so had to go for it. Great beer choices varied enjoyed a peerless ale & Salopian beer. The food though was par excellence. Tender sumptuous steak & the garlic bread remains as succulent as ever. Delightful evening with helpful friendly staff well done

Very popular eating and drinking place where you can enjoy quality food and ales! Best booking in advance as it was very busy by the time I left despite a noon booking. The fish on my Fish and Chips was the biggest I've ever seen, coated in a lovely light beer batter. And the mocha afterwards was gorgeous. Thoroughly recommend a visit!

Lovely pub and the owners are really friendly. EXCELLENT beer and the burger we had was delicious. We went for the Wirral Ale Trail and checked out the live music. Was great fun! Will certainly return. I love the old style interior with all the stone. Lovely place!

Food was great, service was good. Went there with my boyfriend on a Sunday and was told that the Sunday Roast was no longer available. We weren't bothered by it because it wasn't our first choice to order a roast anyway, but what did bother us both was that 3 plates of Sunday Roast was served to another table not long after we finished eating our main course! Have a photo of my boyfriend's reaction Overall, had a lovely evening having dinner at Irby Mill.

Really good home cooked independent food, and a nice independent pub. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice and warm. Howeverβ¦. That is supposed to be blue cheese sauce with the burger. It looks and tasted like pepper corn. I raised this and was told no its definitely blue cheese. So either really bad sauce or a forgetful chef. It definitely had no cheese in. Other than that I canβt fault, the food was so good and staff really welcoming
