We visited this highly rated restaurant last weekend with expectations to try out the vegetarian/vegan dishes on their menu. Loved the black bean tacos and the dish with crispy sweet potatoes and smoked aubergine puree. The one with broccoli was okay, while the pasta felt very bland and a little undercooked to our liking. What was disappointing to note is the quantity which didn't justify the pricing of the dishes in the main course. One can't compare a protein-filled small-plate of non-veg to a plate of vegetarian salad without any protein in it, expecting a customer to pay the same or similar price. The restaurant is located 7-8 mins from the nearby tube station and has a couple of parking spots if not too many. The seating is in a big hall as it was/is a cloth factory of sorts with machines for stitching etc. on display, so a minimalist kind of setting is what the expectation should be. The heating/insulation probably could be improved as well. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way for us to understand what exactly would go in each of the vegetarian dishes before taking the order. Mainly, if they could focus on improving the quantity of each of the vegetarian dishes, ensure they're served piping hot, that will certainly increase the quality aspect and a number of repeat customers.

I visited this highly-rated restaurant, even with a generous 20% discount, expecting a top-tier dining experience, but found the overall offering to be inconsistent, particularly regarding the price point. The highest praise must go to the staff, who were exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Their excellent service truly elevates the guest experience. However, the ambiance felt underdeveloped. The unique, minimalist setting, featuring seating reminiscent of examination chairs and a complete lack of music, created an unusually quiet atmosphere. This created a slightly nervous tension and didn't align with the expectations set by the menu's premium pricing. The food showcased moments of technical competence but often lacked flavor execution. The cauliflower fritters, which came highly recommended, were perfectly textured but surprisingly bland and under-seasoned, relying heavily on the garlic dip to provide essential flavor. The tacos were refreshing, but the standout component was primarily the vibrant coriander sauce, making the dish itself feel less special. Similarly, the mackerel and orange dish, while a good palate cleanser, was composed very simply—a few ingredients arranged on a plate. It was a missed opportunity, lacking the textural contrast (perhaps a light crunch or a ceviche preparation) needed to elevate it from pleasant to truly remarkable. Among the mains, the parsnip pasta was a genuine success and an indicator of great cooking. However, the half chicken was disappointing given its £26 price tag. While technically moist with good smoky skin, it was one-dimensional, lacking the herbaceous accompaniments or simple balancing sides needed to cut through the richness. It felt more akin to a competently cooked rotisserie chicken than a carefully constructed main course at that price. In conclusion, this restaurant offers superb service and a kitchen capable of excellent execution (like the parsnip pasta), but it needs significant refinement in flavor dynamism and atmosphere to justify its standing and prices.

Glad to finally go to SlowBurn as I had read so many positive reviews. Overall the food was good but not great. Service from the staff was very nice - no complaints there! The cauliflower fritters were the let down of the meal. Lacked seasoning or any discernable flavour. The garlic aoili was okay but necessary as the dish was so bland. I liked the black bean gyoza tacos, there was a depth of flavour lacking elsewhere on the table. The mackerel crudo was refreshing palette cleanser but lacked texture - a crumb may have helped. The Slowburn chicken was moist and carried a nice smoky flavour. It was very tasty - but would have benefitted with a vegetable accompaniment or a twist at £26 for a half...you expect a little more.. Really loved the parsnip, smoked garlic and parmesan agnolotti. Good flavour and delicious, hadnt eaten something like that before - although the parsnip crisp was nowhere to be seen.

This was an incredibly positive experience. I came here for lunch today with five friends, which we booked online. The waiters were very attentive, friendly and talked through the menu which was fresh, featuring mainly local or UK-sourced ingredients. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I loved the creative fusion and the clever multi-use of the space as both a local atelier and a restaurant. Definitely a five-star experience.

Really lovely Saturday lunch! Myself and a friend booked a table for lunch at 12.45, however we were delayed in getting there and when I called to explain they were very accommodating and simply moved the booking to 1.15pm! Super helpful, so a really great customer service experience before we had even arrived! The friendly and attentive service continued in the venue - nothing too much trouble, but they were never over-attentive. In my opinion, the perfect level of service. It is primarily a sharing plates venue and we were advised on the number of plates from each section which we adhered to and found the amount to be perfect. Each dish had distinct flavours and was well cooked and presented. I eat out a lot at restaurants specialising in tasting menus and have pretty high standards when it comes to impactful flavours in smaller portions. This place hits the mark for me! We had 4 vegetarian/vegan dishes and 2 fish dishes which were all well-cooked and had balanced, interesting flavours. We also had a dessert each which were both rich and delicious! I would highly recommend this venue! Thank you for a lovely lunch ❤️

OMG. Loved this place - one of my favourite meals of 2022, despite it being mostly vegetarian. The only thing I didn't like was the aubergine...but more my tastebuds kind of thing. Cassava was a revelation, the cauliflower fried bits were gorgeous, the black bean tacos were surprisingly good. Even the chicken was great. Don't be afraid if you are a carnivore like me...venue is awesome too, and quite the surprise.

Went for my husbands birthday at 1.30pm on a Sunday in September. Food was fantastic, everything is delicious. It’s a little on the pricey side but portions are a decent size. Menu changes regularly. Sharing plates with vegetarian first concept although plenty of meant dishes. Tables are shared so you could end up sitting with another group.

It's something different for the area! The food was well presented and really rich considering it's mainly veg oriented. Service was warm and friendly. It's not the best value for money, wine started at £29 a bottle. Worth a try but I'm not entirely convinced I'd go again anytime soon.

Loved this! Food was exciting and innovative and literally everything was extremely tasty, wine list was very interesting with a great selection. Veggie/vegan options galore! And to top it off, it is dog friendly! Oh, and the location is quirky and cool, at the back of a denim factory! Service was great too! Wonderful evening!

Food, service, drinks all exceptional. Unique setting and comfortable environment. Tapas style dishes which are great for sharing.. I cannot fault this place at all and will definitely be returning when I’m in the area.
