   My friend threw up twice while at the restaurant due to allergies, despite mentioning these. Sent food back several times due to these being ignored, but too late. When complained to, the manager lied and gaslighted. I suspect that food might have been tampered with deliberately by the kitchen and the manager was defending them. Food is horrendously overpriced, mediocre and portions are comically small. We spent part of the evening discussing how many portions of McDonalds we could have gotten instead. Best part of the meal were the chips. A lot of the food was either undercooked or overcooked. Best thing about the evening was the waitress looking after us, who was really lovely. Our first time here and the whole evening just felt strange and awkward. Spent the whole time just trying to laugh about the situation, but we definitely won't be returning. Certainly one to avoid. Plenty of better pubs in the area.

   An absolutely delicious experience. The pub has a nice cosy ambiance with homey decor & a sprinkle of autumn feeling. I had the Game sausage and truffle mash, it was delicious! The flavour, sauce and truffles all paired deliciously together. I also had their Mixed leaf salad which was soft, tasty and received several nodding of appreciation from me. Of course I couldn’t leave without trying the highly reviewed Pistachio Soufflé which absolutely did not disappoint, I devoured it within minutes! The staffs were friendly and open. I look forward to coming back, next time I’ll bring a friend to taste your delicious food.

   Our 1st visit and we are already planning a return visit. A very busy Sunday afternoon, but the food was delicious I had the duck which was divine hubby had roast chicken (as they had sold out of the beef, it did look delicious and we would have ordered that for the 3 of us, hopefully next time), roast potatoes were a little hard and the roast pork was dry. Pistachio souffle was superb. The service was very, very good. Friendly, polite and engaging.

   Nice pub located on the main road through locksbottom. Came for a quick drink, first visit. Smart, cosy vibe to the place.Bar located to the front and a large dining area to the rear. Small smokers garden to the side, large garden for non-smokers to the rear. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Friendly and welcoming service. Food available but I didn't stay to eat. Really nice place overall.

   A favourite of ours! Brilliant welcome and service, extensive (and delicious) drinks and food menus, gorgeous decor and dogs welcome with their well behaved humans in the bar area (with treats)! I've had the pleasure to take photographs and create social media content for them a few years ago and we since come back regularly as customers and were never disappointed. Our last visit was on Christmas Day and the food was fantastic as well as service.

   Adam took our Virgin Experience booking over the phone and also greeted us on arrival. The restaurant had a very pleasant ambience and Adam explained the menu to us, including how they are a collection of the chef's favourites. He clearly has a deep passion and knowledge of the dishes offered, how they are cooked and the ingredients. The menu offered a good choice of starter, main and desserts and we were invited to order a drink to start. All of the courses surpassed our expectations and were served promptly after each course. The attention to detail of each component of each dish was amazing as was the presentation and offered a real change to other cuisines. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Adam for a great meal and service.

   This was our third visit to The British Queen - the Sunday roast and the chicken liver parfait can’t be beaten! The service is great too - they are very good about allergies - and extensive drinks choice. The decor is nice and clearly looked after.
