I have been going to Saravana Bhavan for the past few years. The food has been very bad for the past few months, for example the sambar looks like rasam, and since it is closing time at night they mix the water from boiling lentils in the sambar. The taste is very bad, and the pulikulampu also tastes very bad. Please don't ruin the name of Saravana Bhavan

We visited this restaurant twice in one week after it came highly recommended by friends who live nearby. At first, the claim of being the world’s best vegetarian restaurant seemed like a stretch—but after trying the food, I can honestly say it’s one of the best I’ve ever had! On our first visit for lunch, the place was quiet and we were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and attentive, repeating our order to ensure everything was correct. The service was smooth and the food arrived quickly. Our second visit was on a busy Friday evening. I called ahead to ask about reservations and was politely informed that they operate on a walk-in basis only. When we arrived, the host was managing the crowd efficiently—taking names and seating guests in a fair, first-come-first-served manner. The waiter again repeated the order and asked if the dishes could be served as and when they are ready, to which we agreed. Despite the restaurant being full, our food arrived within 10 minutes! I ordered the masala dosa and medu vada on both occasions—classic dishes I hadn’t had in a long time—and they were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and full of authentic flavor. I truly hope they open a branch in Glasgow soon. This place is a must-visit for anyone! Highly recommended!

Very busy on a weekend. Food is very good, what you'd want from South Indian cuisine. Very very quick to arrive and good flavour. Although service was quick, as you cannot book, it takes a long time to get seated and it was difficult to get hold of the waitresses when we needed something.

We had a delightful dinner at Saravanaa Bhavan, Rayners Lane. Our family of three ordered two North Indian thaalis, and it was just perfect for all of us. The taste was authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Great value for money and generous portions. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Rayners Lane Underground. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic vegetarian Indian food!

We went there for a very late lunch (3ish) so were surprised to see a 20 minutes wait and about 6 families ahead of us in the queue. It was a cold day (4-5 C) and we were glad to find out they can add you into the queue along with a phone number, which they use to call you when it's nearly your turn. This let us wait in the comfort of our car. Once we were in, we saw a slightly cramped restaurant. But it was clean and chaos free. The staff there ran it with organized ease and with a smile. The food was fresh and tasty. There were ample choices in the menu. The service was prompt and the toilets clean. In my mind that's good enough for full marks.

Great food and it’s the South Indian food as usual. Absolutely we can’t expect the Saravana Bhavan taste from back home, however it’s almost matching which is good. Service average, with the staff looking unenthusiastic most of the time. Also many times we experienced the waiting time as huge..which they can avoid through booking system. However we had a great time as the food was always as usual amazing.

The food is always tasty and everyone leaves happy~ Dosas are my favourite Indian dish, but my friend also introduced me to baturas here and I've loved them since. It's worth travelling for, especially since the meal is much cheaper than what I'd get in Central London. I've also had the opportunity to try new Indian desserts that I wouldn't have known about otherwise! The last time I went, I was still thinking about it for a week~!

Great authentic restaurant and amazing vegan options. Love the uttapam and dosa; paper dosa is huge and popular, I find it too thin/crispy and get the standard. Service was quick, but they are very busy and not very attentive. However, the person who tops up the chutneys is very efficient!

One of the best restaurant chain. Sometimes they makes messes. We ordered 3 tea and they gave masala coffees, and then the dosa was not baked well. But everything is having good taste.
