Authentic Indian curry house. Weβre looking for Indian food and By luck found this little Gem. We had minimal expectations as but the food was delicious and almost home cooked. Chapatiβs and paratha were both very well prepared. We had paneer green masala and mix vegetables vindaloo Hot curry . Service was excellent and helped with the menu.

This restaurant is a national treasure! Itβs been in the same family and same location since 1958! Thatβs truly a remarkable story. Whenever me and my friends are in Sloane Square, we always try to make trip to Great India. The service and food is amazing! The vegetarian selection is great. Thank you Milan once again for your hospitality. See you in 2026!

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, the staff and waiters were so friendly and warm. I highly recommend. There were many gluten free options to choose from. The menu was labeled, so when choosing what to eat you could understand if you were ordering vegetarian or gluten free or gluten filled or dairy. The dishes we ordered were absolutely amazing. This was a 10/10 experience!!!!

One of the Best Indian Restaurants in London! We went last night for my husbands Birthday and it was fabulous. Food delicious, service excellent. When we arrived early the restaurant was empty and got nervous but it quickly filled up and when the food arrived it was faultless and amazing value!! Would recommend to my family and friends alike.

Great India, sadly not great food, service, or pricing. Service was poor at best. Youβll receive a warmer welcome at the North Pole. The taste was good enough, and portions were as you expect. But at Β£14.95 for a main itβs ridiculously overpriced. Will not return.

The quality, quantity, service and taste of the food were all abysmal to say the least. The staff acted like they were doing us a favour while serving us. Fried rice tasted of turmeric and the tomato soup tasted like tomato purΓ©e.

Expensive and disappointing. We were looking forward to an Indian restaurant in London. Small serves, very ordinary food. Rude service. Letβs hope we do not experience another bad restaurant like this in London whilst on holidays.

Ordered a nice Indian takeaway. The food came on time and was amazing. The spice level was perfect, the flavours were all that I could ask for and the food satisfied all my cravings. Defo would recommend and would order again!

This was my first time visiting the Great India after hearing high praise about its fabulous food and excellent service from my older family members. This is a family run restaurant that has been around since 1958. The interior is very nicely laid out, with elegant tables. It has a private but sophisticated feel as there is a small number of tables and you often have to book in advance. Luckily we managed to walk-in and get a table for 4 when it was not too busy. The gentleman who waited on us the entirety of our time was called Milan. He was very poised and hospitable. Amongst the 4 of us, we ordered a range of vegetarian and meat dishes. I recommend paying to have the Poppadoms and Chutneys as they were excellent and a great way to whet the palate before your main meal. Their mango chutney was outstanding and very addictive! For my dinner I had Mushroom Rice which was flavourful and savory. It's a perfect portion too, just the right amount for a substantial meal. To accompany it I ordered a Mutter Paneer side dish which is very mild and quite sweet, so I would recommend getting it with added spice if you order it. For dessert I ordered a Coconut Supreme which was an exceptional closing stanza to my meal; it's a fantastic Coconut ice cream with coconut shavings inside and all beautifully presented in a real coconut shell! Great India is situated in the high-end area of Sloane Square/Street so their quality matches the presupposesd expectation of institutions in the area as well as their amicable hospitality. If you decide to order a starter, main, rice and dessert and drink it'll be Β£40-Β£50 per head depending on what you order. Ordering just a main + rice + drink for roughly Β£25 per head is more than enough to satisfy as their portion sizes are good and their dishes are as authentic as I've tasted. It's definitely a place I'd recommend for a relaxed yet memorable dinner out.
