   Nothing was authentic. Not sure how this has such high reviews. Mabye people who know nothing about Italian food. Shame. **Edit 1. I got food poisoning from your food. 2. The calamari we ordered were fishy, chewy and tasteless. The arancini were dry, and the pizza was soggy. I'm Italian (from Sicily) and also a chef. Your food is at best, average.

   Yesterday twenty of us sat down for lunch. The pre booking and ordering arrangements had been straightforward and easy with the restaurant being very flexible. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and efficient and the atmosphere great. We have been holding an annual lunch for a few years but this was probably the best yet. Many thanks to Fernanda and her staff for making it so.

   We are visiting from Australia for five weeks, and just called in for a drink. Atmosphere was so good and the girl who served us was so inviting we said we would come back another day before we left. Two weeks later we stopped in for another drink and decided to stay for a meal. Wonderful food, same welcoming waitress again. The cousins we were staying with who live in Horsley who hadn’t been to the restaurant stall, heard all about this place. We ALL went back today and shared a wonderful lunch, our same waitress was there and a wonderful older man who told lots of ‘nice’ jokes. Love this place. Do yourself a favour and visit whenever you can. Viva La Meridiana!!! Love this restaurant- Sandra King from South Australia

   Really great staff, very friendly and welcoming - they make us feel at home every time, and this really makes the difference. If you love Italian food, this is the place to go. We love their carbonara, which is done the proper way with guanciale and eggs but without cream! Also their typical meat dishes are fantastic such as saltimbocca and veil marsala. Great pizza too! And on some Friday nights there is music and great happy atmosphere!

   Great Burrata as a starter, tagliatelle al salmon as a main, great source of wine. Delicious meals, sicilian wine, friendly team and experienced chef. Perfect for a family/friends catch up or a special day/party/couples meal/children meal.

   Very friendly staff and a lovely birthday meal. Accommodating and patient with a group of eight who'd been to a gin festival prior. Mussels in the starter were very small, apart from this all was lovely so will revisit for sure. Second visit, a very talented singer sung songs from Sinatra, Bobby Darin and even UB40. Service very slow, excellent, friendly staff but just overwhelmed by numbers. Food much better than our previous visit.

   Superb. Lovely welcome, fabulous food from starter to sweet. 50% off Steak Night a real bonus. We dined early but there was no awkwardness of, at first, being the only people in there. Soon the place was buzzing, including a Scout group creating their own pizzas outside. Great community inclusion. Altogether more than 10/10. We don't live close which is a good thing....we'd be there far too often! However we will return, too good to miss.

   Apart from being seated under the ferocious air con for 2 hrs which was the most annoying thing ever. The food was excellent. I specifically asked prior to arriving at the restaurant to be seated in the elevated section of the restaurant.

   First time in this beautiful Italian restaurant and it was just wonderful. Having lived it Italy for some time I don’t tend to go to Italian restaurants in UK as often the menus are dumbed down or cater for a British audience. The menu choices are really interesting and authentic, simple but tasty offerings, and even the Pinot Grigio is proper quality! Needless to say the staff are attentive and lovely like you’d see in an Italian trattoria. The service was a bit slow but it was really busy and I’d rather that than to be rushed. Roberto and the team made everything very relaxing and pleasant. A real gem, and even we are not local we look forward to returning!
