Quaint restaurant on the popular Bermondsey Street. Lovely fresh dishes with table and counter seating. A very pleasant place for a chilled evening out with good food and drinks. Freshly prepared seafood dishes, fantastic oysters and 10/10 tiramisu!

We had the best dinner here! The food, wine and service were amazing! Shout out to our very attentive and friendly waitress, sorry didn’t catch her name. Would recommend this restaurant!!!

Very tasty Italian food and a great selection of wine by glass and bottle. The service was friendly and efficient. It’s a small restaurant and the noise levels could be high if you dine with a rowdy table. We had a table downstairs which was fine and we could watch the kitchen! Moderately expensive but, hey, it’s central London. Well worth the walk down a culinary street. Beware table turn round on early bookings.

Baccala in Bermondsey is Italian done with a modern wink but without going full experimental theater. The chef revisits the classics just enough to keep things interesting, without losing the soul of the originals. Seafood gets a lot of love here — fresh, well-prepared, and the kind of dishes that remind you London can actually pull off Mediterranean vibes when it tries. The wine list is excellent, carefully chosen rather than bloated. And the tiramisu? Straight out of nonna’s kitchen — moist, rich, balanced, exactly how it should be. The crowd skews local, mostly Londoners who know where to eat, with only a handful of tourists who’ve clearly done their homework. Reviews brought them here, and honestly, this place earns every star. Service is friendly, not formal and very efficient.

One of the best Italian restaurant around :) My 2nd time here didn’t disappoint at all. Food was so tasty with a stunning presentation. 1 order was wrong but all the team was so apologetic and went above and beyond to sort. Thank you for the wonderful food and service. You’ll have me back again :) I have to get to the cod that ran out on both my visits.

Really nice restaurant! We had a reservation on a Friday night, the concept is around fish and wine. We took a bottle of wine for which the waitress gave us really nice advice. We also go for the bread and olive oil that was super good (you can choose your oil from a list and we follow the waitress recommendations). The meal was really good and we finished by a tiramisu. The atmosphere is nice but a bit noisy as tables are closed and the room is narrow. I recommend that restaurant even if it is a bit pricy but the food and wine are really good.

We tried spicy tuna steak, pasta with black pepper and baby octopus with Italian northern white wine. It was delightful and the dishes were tastefully surprising as they didn't taste like typical Italian style seafood dishes. Sourghdough breads with olive oil that we selectively choose were delicious as well. Simple yet flavorful taste... We could understand why this place had high review. Also Fred helped us alot choosing the best wine and olive oil that went really well with the dishes we ordered- highly recommend this place and we will be back here again. We gave 4 stars though as portion was smaller than we expected....

Very friendly service, delicious food and nice atmosphere! The food was so good, shared the bread basket and burrata as a starter and then had the prawn pasta (which was a massive portion). My friend had a vegetarian pasta dish and we shared a tiramisu. We also had a bottle of white wine and lots of sparkling water, altogether was £140. Staff is attentive and helpful. They offer various options of olive oil, which I found cool and different to other restaurants.

Average to good taste, average price and portions for this style of restaurant. Came with friends, tried some of the appetisers and pasta, including the octopus. Think the pastas were good, don't have good memory of what the others were so probably not as good. Also tried the olive oil tasting, the one we chose had an interesting spice.
