Damascena is a nice place in a central location, making it an easy stop if you’re in the area. It’s centrally located with plenty of seating available both indoors and outside at the front. The dΓ©cor and overall atmosphere are a real draw and add to the experience β€” we were taken to a very beautiful indoor room, which made the visit feel special. The menu is rich and varied, with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, and the drinks are good. Food was well cooked, served in good portions, and reasonably priced for the quality. Overall, it’s a great spot and I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re nearby.

My favourite breakfast spot in Bham. It has a really nice decor. I always come back for the saffron tea because I just can’t find it anywhere! We had the breakfast meze and it was such a feast! We chose the baba ghanoush, Shakshouka, damascena fuul and falafels. Had a party in my mouth dipping flatbreads in the different dips. The falafels were beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. And it’s also not heavy on the pocket.

Served by Hossein today who looked after us extremely efficiently. Fantastic as always. This place is just wonderful. One of the best in Birmingham (for us, the food capital of the UK). The mushroom croquette is absolutely unreal, as is the fuul. We also had stuffed vine leaves, fried potatoes and shared a slice of avocado toast. We visit every time we're here with work and it does not disappoint. Beautiful discreet/quiet dining room in the back too. If you're in Brum and looking for extremely good food, look no further. Two for a very filling lunch was around Β£40 too so not stupidly expensive either. 10/10.

Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.

The atmosphere at Damascena is truly amazing β€” such a pleasant and welcoming vibe. Special thanks to Bardia, who is extremely helpful and supportive, always guiding with food choices β€” I can’t say enough about how great the service is. The food is delicious and very diverse; I’ve tried different wraps, sandwiches, and shawarmas, and really enjoyed them all. Sometimes the dishes are a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall the variety and quality are excellent. The place itself is lovely, the only downside is that the parking space is quite limited.

What a lovely find. Visiting from South Wales for a gig & mooching around Birmingham looking for coffee for my wife, and stumbled across Danascena. We've never eaten Middle Eastern food before & so thought it was a great opportunity to try, so glad we did. The did was absolutely delicious, Maria loved the coffee also. Highly recommended.

Picked this place based on reviews and how much I'm missing Middle Eastern food. It was bustling on the footpath so I picked a table inside to enjoy their decor. The Chicken Shawarma Arabiya featured succulent, seasoned meat and pickles wrapped in a flat bread and sectioned, served with spicy potatoes, garlic dipping sauce and a light salad. The cardamom tea was uniquely fragrant and herb like, so soothing after the oilier meal. Both were well presented. The Arabian inspired interior is lovely, contrasting with the lush greenery across the path. A couple of tables complained about the long wait for their orders while I was there. Service was the barest minimum possible, accounting for the rating.

What a gem in this bustling city, beautiful tasty food and friendly staff helped us decide what to order.. Inside the restaurant felt like an authentic middle Eastern cafe and the food was authentic... We wish we had found it sooner... We will be back, highly recommended.

Probably the best place in Birmingham city centre to have a dine in lunch especially for Halal food that isn't fried. Wraps are only about Β£6-7 and they're really filling. Overall menu isn't pricey in my opinion but the portion sizes are very good regardless. Service is really quick, and the wait isn't long at all. Juices were freshly made and not diluted at all. The interior is nice, although it is one big hall like room at the back of the restaurant. Defo planning on coming again soon

Just plain GOEGEOUS! Food and aesthetics. Staff were super lovely too. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance as this place is very busy due to its popularity(understandably so) and you may have to wait a while to get a table if you just turn up. Totally worth the wait though!
