I cannot overstate this enough - the food is amazing. The flavours are fantastic, and if you're searching for mouth-watering Mexican dishes then look no further. It's tapas style so order a selection of dishes and tuck in. We got three of the taco dishes - Birria, Baja and Pibil and got the Chicharon belly bites (which are so succulent, and melt in your mouth). Every dish was perfect and we're looking forward to coming back and trying more. The more people you bring the merrier - as you can try more of everything! We went just before the dinner rush and it was fairly quiet but as we left it had picked up and I imagine it gets pretty lively. Staff were lovely, food came out quickly and if you have any room after mains I can recommend the churros. Best churros I've had in a long long time. 10/10 we'll be back.

Most of the dishes are very good. Gave my stepdad his first ever snus (nicotine pouch) in here and he had a total whitey. Staff were very nice and let him lay down and contemplate life. Will be back, with more snus.

Warmly greeted and seated - staff were lovely. This was quite the wrong choice of food for us entirely BUT the young man who served us couldn't have been more helpful - he tried his very best to help us decide - which we did eventually. Nothing at all wrong with the food - we could see other tables absolutely tucking in and thoroughly enjoying it. We'd never tried this type of food ever ( believe it or not). Just not for us - but please don't walk past - it's worth calling in.

Madre is a Mexican restaurant that truly delivers on quality and flavor. Our meal began with the classic starter of guacamole and chips, and we were not disappointed. The homemade chips were crispy and perfectly seasoned with salt, while the guacamole was fresh and bursting with flavor. Every ingredient, from the lime to the coriander, to the jalapeño and tajin seasoning, came together in harmony. To drink, we ordered the Black Cherry Margarita & Mezcal Margarita, which was a standout. Nothing better to have with delicious Mexican food. We then moved onto the tacos, starting with the Birria de Res. The slow-cooked beef shin was incredibly tender and juicy, and the Oaxaca cheese and tatemada salsa added a nice depth of flavor. The tortillas were toasted to perfection and seasoned with the tatemada salsa, which made for a perfect pairing with the beef. The Baja Fish Tempura taco was exceptional, with the MSC-certified Atlantic pollock cooked to perfection. The crispy batter gave way to a soft and perfectly seasoned fish, and the toppings of chopped tomatoes, coleslaw, onions, jalapeño aioli, and salsa Mexicana made for a well-rounded and flavorful taco. The Tuna Tostada was another favorite, with a generous amount of fresh tuna paired perfectly with avocado and jalapeño. This dish was a unimaginable, and the flavors came together beautifully. The special Ribeye Carne Asada was cooked to perfection, and the warm baked flour tortilla provided the perfect vessel for the meat. The queso, crispy onions, and soft tortilla added to the texture and flavor of the dish, making it a well-executed and memorable dish. The CDMX Ribs were another highlight, with the succulent and juicy ribs marinated in Mexican cola, chili, and lime. Topped with red onions, these ribs were so delicious that we wished they were served in taco form. The quesadillas were another great dish, with the homemade chorizo adding a nice kick of spice. The melting gruyere and mozzarella cheese were the perfect complement, and the dish was elevated even further with a dip of delicious salsa verde. We finished the meal with nicely made churros, served with chocolates and a margarita sorbet, which were the perfect sweet end to a wonderful meal. Overall, Madre is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful Mexican cuisine. Each dish was expertly executed and delivered on both taste and quality. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients is evident in every dish, making it a truly exceptional dining experience.

If ever there was a resturant to rave about, it's this! Must go!! The cocktails were on point! The nachos (one portion is enough to share between three, trust me). The waiter will recommend 2/3 dishes each, stick to 1 and sharing 1. It's too much otherwise. I really wanted dessert from here but sadly I was stuffed.

A tasty meal in Madre. The food was fresh and what we ordered was filling. I did think the prices were a little steep but I'm thinking the location added to that. I particularly enjoyed the nachos (£15) and the quesadilla was excellent but very small. The waiting staff were helpful and the food came quickly. We paid £45 including tip for nachos, 2 small tacos, 1 quesadilla, peppers and potatoes.

A cosy atmosphere and friendly service. Tables are a bit close together inside, there is also a lage outdoor courtyard when the weather allows which is a bonus. Nachos are pretty epic and good to share. The tacos and small plates are tasty. Only had a beer on this visit but the cocktails sound interesting especially the frozen ones on a warm day. Another good option when visiting the Albert Dock
