Called in on a Tuesday lunchtime. Food was very nice and reasonably priced. Service was good too. I had a gyros with halloumi fries. The wife had salt and pepper chips. I foolishly ordered extra chips as I assumed the portions would be small. I was wrong. Good sized portions. My dog was happy. Bill came to £23. Nice area outside. It seemed to attract walkers visiting the Torrs Millennium Park which is situated next to this pub. All in all, a great day out was had by all.

We had a lovely lunch here. Stopped in after going for a walk in the area. It wasn't too busy and there's a decent beer garden outside. We both had the beef brisket and chilli cheese pie from the special board and it was great, one of the best pies I've had. It's definitely homemade, not frozen like most pubs. The pastry was great, loads of beef that just fell apart and so tasty. Highly recommend. They also have lots of homemade cakes, so of course we had to give them a try as well and can confirm they are also amazing, definitely take a slice to go!! All the staff we spoke to were really friendly. Really reasonable prices for the quality and portion size, would definitely visit again!!

We had high expectations of the food after reading past reviews on Google, but my wife and I were both disappointed. I was looking forward to the corn beef hash, red cabbage and crusty roll, as I haven't had this dish in years, and my mum used to serve it with red cabbage. This was served, but no mention that they had substituted the red cabbage with beetroot. I went to the bar to query this, and was told they had run out of red cabbage. Whilst this was disappointing, it would have been nice if they had mentioned this and apologised. The second disappointment was that there was only a couple of pieces of potato in my hash. Lots of corned beef and carrots. There definitely should have been more potatoes, and I check this by googling images of this dish and recipes. The roll was very pale, not baked long enough to become the described crusty. My wife has the sea bass, but she told me it was smoked and didn't taste like sea bass, although there was plenty of it. She thought it tasted more like kippers! Maybe there was another unannounced substation and this wasn't the fish we ordered. She enjoyed the pesto mash, but the broccoli and peas were cold already when served. On a positive note, the pub is dog friendly and the lady who served our food gave them a treat. The real ale I had was served in good condition. The pub was busy on the Saturday afternoon when we visited, which is good to see. From our experience I cannot recommend this pub, especially for dining. Update after response: My wife gave me a bit of her fish and it definitely tasted smoked . Yes it was corned beef hash which is meant to have corned beef, but from my experience and images and recipes seen from a Google search show that this dish normally has a lot more potatoes. Maybe someone got my share, because I only got a couple of pieces, so obviously in your recipe. I'm glad you agree I should has been told the red cabbage had run out rather than just substituting it. There was no comment about the cold vegetables or under baked roll which wasn't crispy.

I have just been victim to easily the single worst pizza/meal I have ever been presented. Truly offensively horrendously bad food. Luckily I paid on a company card. If it was my money I would have asked for a refund. Instead After a few bites I was so gutted and hungry I just got up and left and went the chippy over the road instead

Dog friendly pub. Stopped in for a coffee and toasted sandwich and we were very pleasantly surprised. Large garden with a couple of covered pods. Not that we needed them as it's a lovely sunny day and the garden is a real sun trap. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich came with lots of salad and a pot of home made coleslaw. We will definitely return.

We saw a Facebook post for Sunday lunch for the Pride Of The Peaks and as we had been out shopping thought why the hell not. Believe me when I say it was the best decision we had made in a long time. The portion size was enough to feed a family but as the food was so tasty I ate every morsel. We had roast lamb cooked to perfection and hardly a spot of fat, much to the disappointment of my dog. The homemade Yorkshire pudding I could of climbed it as it was that tall. Oh and lets not had seen the desserts as we walked in teasingly displayed in a glass fridge. I was by this point full but had seen the newly made banoffee cheesecake so what did I do...of course I ordered a slice and almost made myself sick because I just needed it

Nice pub, but the burger was... too much of everything. Friendly staff.

Lovely staff with a lovely warm welcome for your 4 legged friends. The food was freshly cooked and most of it appeared home made. Very tasty and very good value.
