My husband and I visited on a Saturday lunchtime after driving past many times and thinking it looked a nice place to stop for lunch. We were shocked that there was no one in there. It was dead. No staff either! We walked around and around, eventually finding 2 other awkward looking diners so this gave us hope that it was actually open so we tried again at the bar. It took a good five minutes before we sighted a member of staff. We had found our own menu by then but he told us that was not available and a reduced menu of pizza and paninis was all that was available. We ordered a panini each. It was fine, not bad. There was no cask ale, most things were pre-bottled. The music was way too loud and not in fitting with Saturday lunchtime. Service ( when we found him!) was fine, we think he was by himself doing everything so there is only so much one man can do. It wasn't terrible but we have no plans to return again despite living locally as there are so many better options, maybe we caught them on a bad day but it felt like a ghost town, bizarre experience.

My brother and I would regularly frequent this place after our midweek driving range sessions. This won’t be happening anymore as they’ve implemented one of those crafty little “put your license plate number in the tablet” jobbies in. As we’d been such regulars, we weren’t expecting it and no one told us. So we’ve been hit with £60 fines each. There’s plenty of other great options in the surrounding area. I’d recommend you go with them instead

Very pleasant overnight stay. Arrived a little late to have evening meal but it looked lovely! Comfy beds. Quiet room. Space to park. No milk or tea in room but available from reception. Slept well. Breakfast was a little small for the cost (£10.50 as not booked in advance) but tasted good. Would stay again when on sale price

Absolutely brilliant, great customer service, top quality food although they need to expand the menu with more choices

Had the lasagne and it was like just mince and cheese. Really dry no tomato. Next the service, no one came and checked on our meals and when we had finished it took 30 mins for anyone to even walk into the dining room. Seems more interested in talking to people at the bar. Won’t be coming back

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago with family. Food was just beautiful and the lamb cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely and attentative and gave my 4 year old some colouring stuff to do too which was a welcome distraction after purple fruit shoot sent him hyper! (we never learn).

The food was amazing. My husband and I had a roast dinner each and it was perfect. The staff were lovely too - when we arrived we were advised that there may be a delay on out food arriving as the kitchen staff were preparing a buffet but our dinner reached the table less than 15 minutes after ordering. Its location is lovely too and the interior is rustic and suits the area. A genuinely lovely pub for a Sunday lunch!
