Very disappointing, I haven't been here for a few years and it used to be one of the best. The chips seemed like oven cooked frozen chips, very dry and tasteless and the fried rice was like rubber, definitely not worth the price

This used to be a great place to eat, but I returned tonight and not so much anymore.. An increase in price means that its about 50% more expensive than any other Chinese take aways in the area. £12.50 for a sweet and sour pork and rice is just ridiculous. Be aware, unlike others, the price of meals is the meal alone and doesn't include rice or chips. The quality of the food has also declined. The sweet and sour wasn't great taste and the pork was really chewy. Also, they no longer do proper chips, they taste like frozen chips out of a bag. All in all, one to avoid.

I am deeply saddened to leave such a poor review, as the Kowloon used to be my best rated Chinese/chippy in both the Hoylake and West Kirby area. It was a place I went to growing up that holds fond memories for me. But I do believe that what I am about to say will not come as a surprise to the majority of local folk reading this. That it’s simply not worth going to the Kowloon anymore due to the extortionate prices. I ordered a portion of chips and a pot of gravy the other day. As I am no longer a Hoylake resident, I have not been privy to the increase in price occurring here at such an alarming rate. I almost choked as the number was tallied up on the till. £6.40. Being pregnant and desperate, I paid the price, due to the fact the Dolphin was closed. However, I doubt anyone can justify such a cost, especially given the fact the portion of chips was pretty average sized and came in one of those small paper bags, which is never usually a good sign. Tragically, I have had to come to the conclusion that this will be my last ever visit to the Kowloon, a decision that doesn’t come lightly but is completely necessary for the sake of my finances and mental health. Luckily, there are other local options available for those seeking an affordable Chinese or chippy in the Hoylake area, for example Full House and, as previously mentioned, the Dolphin. But unfortunately, this doesn’t take away from the pain of forcibly having to say goodbye to the Kowloon. Once a beloved local favourite, now a disappointing shadow of its former self, a betrayal to the loyal community it once served.

Absolute best crispy fish and chips. The mixed in green peppers and black bean sauce was delicious also. Thank you Kowloon.

Great takeaway. Curry is nice and strong and the salt n pepper ribs are awesome.

Good quality food. Getting expensive since last price increase. They don't accept credit cards so cash only

First visit here, very impressive. Best chips I've tasted in a long time: crunchy, flavourful; and cooked to perfection. Chinese dishes were excellent. Not the cheapest Chinese takeaway in Hoylake, but worth every penny. It's a cash-only establishment BTW.

Great food, however gone a bit too pricey for us of late for take away.

Great food and service , never had anything from there I didn't like , not cheap .
