   Walking into Blunts (excuse the pun) is like slipping on a wellworn pair of shoes. You know exactly what you’re going to get. That same reassuring experience I remember from when I was a little boy. The moment you step inside, you’re met with floor-to-ceiling boxes, the smell of leather hanging in the air, and that warm familiarity you’ll never find in the clinical, high-street chains. The assistants still handwrite bills on a pad, and the only place you’ll find technology is tucked quietly in the back office, exactly where it belongs when you’re shopping for shoes. Yes, there was a short wait before our back to schooler could be measured, but given we left it until the day before term started, what did we expect? Service was spot on. The lady who helped us clearly knew children’s feet inside out and guided us through the tricky transition between junior and senior sizes. What could have easily been just another below par shopping trip turned into something calm, helpful, and actually quite enjoyable. Price wise, no complaints we found a comfortable, decent pair for around £30–40. For a shoe shop with heart, history, and proper service, Blunts is well worth a visit.

   Absolutely fabulous service , staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble , staff were happy to order in shoes for me with no obligation to buy. Also impressed I could buy the shoes try them on at home ( inside on carpet) and if not happy with the fit could return them for an exchange . How good is that. Best shoe shop by far.

   I ordered a pair of Padders Plus size shoes from this store via an online server. As I live in Australia, the last pair of Padders I purchased was from Kettering UK pre2019, and as these shoes had seen me through the 2019 bushfire, bushfire recovery, chainsawing, clearing up, hot ash, over creeks, through winter storms and having dug the veggie patch and rose garden several times seen several lambings and been weed and pood on by sheep, I thought it about time to buy another pair. Australia is not the best place to purchase a well-made pair of leather "work" shoes unless I wear a blokes shoe ! Imagine my surprise when I saw my shoe online from BLUNTS !! WELL DONE BLUNTS for selling Padders shoes. You sent them on time and they arrived safely here to me in the Adelaide Hills. I shall now consign my very worn-out pair to the dam in the hope that one-day the Romans will dig them up ! PS I am from Northampton - the once shoe capital of the world !!

   Very helpful staff, did their level best to help my size 14 feet but sadly they were beaten! Not for the want of effort though. Car park outside for 30mins no return, or locally five mins walk. Two story building, men downstairs ladies upstairs. Big choice of styles for everyone well worth a visit!
