I bought some a Cheaney shoes from the Leeds branch. £400+ black shoes for work that had a slight blemish/scuff on the leather upper so I got them for £180. Within 12 months I noticed unusual wear on the front edge and within 18 months the upper had clearly separated from the sole. I think this was because the leather stitching on the sole had worn away. In that 18 months I only wore them for work inside a carpeted office and worked from home at least a third of the time. So overall very poor quality shoes. I would expect £180 shoes to last longer than 12-18 months. I would have been heartbroken if I had paid £400. They offered to repair for £145 LOL My advice is avoid at all cost. Update October 2025. So having stopped laughing at their offer to repair for £145, I got them repaired from a local cobbler for £70 and 18 months later they are better than they were new. Cheaney really is a rip off folks. Avoid.

I own several pairs of Cheaney shoes. Fancied some black shoes for work and was passing by Leeds. Really glad we stopped by. I had in my internet browser a pair of Tivertons Black for £460. They were in the Outlet for £185. These seconds, I can barely see the issue and have a wax & polish it will be invisible. Walked away with two other pairs... Just be mindful, as it's an outlet, it's pot luck what will be in stock.

Good service, well-fitting boots (women's) which are a bit wider fitting than Church's, which are too narrow for me. The boots look beautifully made, and as if they will last for ever.

Paid a visit to Cheaney's as I was looking for a well made, comfortable but hard wearing shoe (as i tend to go through shoes like anyone's business). From the moment I entered the shop I knew I'd come to the right place, you could instantly see and feel the quality and attention to detail in the shoes. I was greeted by Gerry who instantly put me at ease, which helped, as I suffer with anxiety. Speaking with Gerry I discussed exactly what I wanted in a shoe and that I needed something pretty hard wearing due to the way I walk, suggesting a few pairs, he gave me the ins and outs of each style, giving his expert advice on which he felt would be best for me. Surprisingly, he did not recommend the most expensive of the three pairs he showed me, this filled me with impression that he cared more about my needs as a customer, rather than filling the till with cash. All in all I can say this was hands down the most at ease I've ever felt in a shop of any kind and I owe it all to that man Gerry. Yes there are cheaper shoes available but you get what you pay for. When it's time for another pair of shoes I shall certainly go back to Cheaney's and Gerry in particular.

Recently visited Leeds and had pleasure of visiting Joseph Cheaney & Sons. They hold a good range of luxury shoes. The fitting service and overall customer care was second to none . If your in Leeds it's a must to visit, we were served by Gerry who just simply couldn't do more to help us. There are also factory seconds which are great value if your looking for a second or third pair, found upstairs. Was a real find, we left feeling valued as a customer, walking away with great quality shoes. A service like no other I have received for quite some time. Highly recommend. Thank you!

What can I say the service by all the sales assistants is always second to none always really helpful. They have seconds upstairs which have some small faults on them at half the price. I have recently purchased 2x pairs of brogues but wanted a black pair and Fin offered to dye them for me to this colour what a service really pleased with them and a great customer experience! Do not hesitate to go

Nice shoes, pretty well made. The soles aren’t the best though; I’ve never got through a sole as quickly in any other shoe I’ve got. I’d recommend Grenson or Barker for the same price gets you a better shoe. People in the shop are nice but I wouldn’t buy another pair from here unless they were for wearing in the house.
