   Went to Junsei recently , I really liked the dark, moody vibe. We ended up sitting at the counter since tables were fully booked, but it was actually quite nice watching the chefs grill everything in front of us. The short rib donabe was the highlight for me, super tender beef, lots of mushrooms, and the sauce mixed really well with the rice.Crispy chicken skin was light and crunchy, and the scallops were fresh and soft with a slightly sweet sauce. Grilled dishes were good overall, especially the chicken wings.

   We visited here for our anniversary and the food was just absolutely amazing. Especially the beef tartare and the pork belly. Also the onigiri and the complementary milk pudding was so great! Coming from Japan recently in the summer I can definitely say the taste brought us back to that atmosphere. A special mention to Simba, our waiter for the night. He was so friendly and kind which was really refreshing, plus very knowledgeable about the dishes and gave the best recommendations. If you get the chance to come here, do it. You won’t regret it :)

   Sitting at the counter watching the chef work was part of the experience. The skewers were all excellent — juicy chicken thigh with scallion, crispy chicken skin, and perfectly grilled scallops stood out. Cozy atmosphere with vinyl music in the background, great for late-night drinks and bites. Highly recommend booking ahead.

   Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. Oh wow what an amazing find. Tucked away near Edgware and didn’t expect it to be this good! The chicken thighs were to die for. I think some of the best cooked chicken I’ve had. Everything was so simple yet so delicious. The staff were nice as well although not everyone had the same amount of knowledge of the menu. Our main waiter was great. Unfortunately a group next to us felt we were “too loud” although we were talking at a normal volume. Also try their desert the chocolate cake was so good!!

   The chicken skin, gizzard are very nice. The chicken meatball with egg yolk is awesome! Very authentic Japanese style. The veg skewers are nice as well. You can order the don with 62 degree egg. And mix all together. The sake is nice to order. I’ve ordered the ume Bellini which I love a lot! The service is nice. Staff very helpful and the environment also good

   Recently visited Junsei and was blown away by the tender Chicken Ball with Egg Yolk and crispy Onigiri, other skewers were cooked to perfection too, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior.    Incredible food this place is very special , the service was fantastic the music and ambiance was perfect , this is now one of my favourite restaurants in london ,, having a wife that was born and lived in Japan for 9 years is always hard to please but she loved the food and said how authentic it was. A special mention to the charming manager who should be given a pay rise he was delightful. Thank you everyone for a wonderful evening
