   ALWAYS helpful friendly, knowledgeable and very fair prices and really comprehensive stock. Athough it is likely used mostly by local tradesman , DIY enthusiasts are also most welcome and staff are patient and helpful to them ( me for sure!) and will help you find a solution if you have a problem but not sure how best to solve it and what tools and fixings you might need. I tend to use Powels rather than the local chain building suppliers like Wickes or further a field B,& Q Bolton certainly their quality fixings are better value than those big corporates and the staff have broad experience and thus more able to advise you. Nothing's too much trouble for them. I'd like to commend Declan especially, a younger member of staff providing great customer service - he has great knowledge of the wide variety of products being sold. He's always gone the extra mile to help and most appreciate his friendly professionalism. Use your sat nav to find it on Bridge Street, Swinton !- it's signage is quite discreet and former windows are now shuttered because the inside of the store has been upgraded , rearranged so shelving is now in over the window recess- don't be fooled into thinking it is closed! I'd highly recommend this local outstanding family business

   I recently enquired about a specific bolt for setting up a metal shoe rack at home. Although they didn't have an exact match they found me an alternative that also fitted. The guy behind was very helpful and professional and didn't even charge me for the 10 screws. I'll definitely be coming here again in the near future!

   Cannot recommend Powells high enough, the service, price and the quick turn round of parts are brilliant. The knowledge and help from Joe, Andy and Sam especially is second to none and they will always find the right ironmongery for the job at the best price.
