Cute and cozy spot for French fare - we had the prix fixe menu, really liked the sea bass (the celeriac soup was tasty though a bit salty), the onion fennel goat cheese tart (also good, though again a bit salty), and the salads (which were good portions). Nice wine list, especially the half bottle option, and quick service. The ambiance is very cosy and festive this time of year.

We tried this spot for afternoon tea. It was quiet and we were one of a few patrons in the restaurant. Given this we would have thought the service was a bit more attentive; the meal dragged between courses at odd pacing. Desserts were beat out the savory items in our opinion. Our favorites were the crème brûlée and brownie! The carrot cake was a bit dry. Tea was plentiful and hot. Sandwich wise the egg sandwich was fantastic and well liked by our crew. The cucumber sandwich was flavorful but the white sandwich bread on all the sandwiches were a bit dry. The salmon sandwich and cucumber could use a bit more filling. Scones were warm and tasted yummy with the jam. All in all for the value and ease of getting a reservation day-of we would consider going back.

I Boulevard Brasserie in Covent Garden in November 2024 for afternoon tea, which was kindly organised by a friend. We picked this spot for its central location and reasonable pricing, and I was excited since it had been a while since my last afternoon tea. Location: The brasserie is very conveniently located near Covent Garden, making it an ideal spot if you’re in the area. Service: The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. With a reservation, we were seated upstairs promptly, where we enjoyed a nice view. The team regularly checked in to offer tea refills, which was a thoughtful touch. Ambiance: The upstairs seating had a cozy feel, but there was an unusual smell both downstairs and upstairs, which slightly affected the experience. While the decor had some charm, it reminded me more of a pub than a classic afternoon tea venue. Tea & Presentation: The porcelain teacups were elegant, but the tea was served in metal teapots, which didn’t quite match the overall theme. While practical for keeping tea warm, I would have preferred a more cohesive presentation. Food: The food was enjoyable but fairly standard for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fresh but smaller than expected, and I would have liked a better balance of savory and sweet items. The scones were the highlight—large, soft, and delicious, served with clotted cream and jam. The desserts, including macarons and a mousse, were good but not particularly memorable. Extras: Since it was my birthday, the staff surprised me with a card, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture. Overall: Boulevard Brasserie offers a convenient and affordable afternoon tea experience with great service. While the food and ambiance didn’t stand out for me personally, it’s a good option for those looking to try a centrally located and reasonably priced afternoon tea. I would rate it a solid 3 out of 5.

Our visit was very much a passing through trip, and it was a mixed one. Walking inside, we were not greeted, simply stared at from the back of the restaurant, and when we approached the staff, there was no real greeting, no warmth or welcome, just a look. Odd. We took ourselves to an outside table and then waited 10 minutes to be approached for drinks - by the same dour and rather uninterested waiter (who looked senior) who we saw inside. I had to stop him from walking away so we could order food at the same time as our drinks, which we kept simple as it felt the ongoing experience was not going to improve. Interestingly, as soon as an actual waitor and kitchen staff started approaching our table to bring our orders, the experience was much better, if not exactly becoming of French restaurant standards. The food was simple, so reasonably tasting, though pricy for what it was and not well sized portions at all. Drinks were pleasant, but again, pricier than they should have been, and at no time did any member of staff engage us in any friendly conversation or discussion on the menu. A disappointing and cultureless experience, which was surprising for a French restaurant in the Covent Garden area and not right within the tourist traps. It may as well have been.

Had an outstanding experience at Boulevard Brasserie. My partner and I had lunch together. We booked for around 12 and arrived at first at a very quiet restaurant which got very lively as lunchtime hit. The atmosphere was great. Our server (Tzouliano listed on Receipt) was great. Very quick and polite - thank you for your service. The food was fantastic. We opted for the lunch set menu. Having the Baked Brie Filo starter and Butternut risotto for main. My partner had the Sea bass for main, with a side of Fries. We shared a Creme Brulé for dessert. Would highly recommend all of them. Will be visiting again soon and recommending to all, thank you for a great experience.

Really lovely restaurant, atmosphere is very warm and welcoming! Seated upstairs, the service was really fast and the staff were super friendly. Food was delicious! Highly Recommend! Will definitely be back! December update: Went back again because the first experience was so good. However, the second time wasn’t as good. The service was not great, and the food was very underwhelming. I ordered the salmon with potatoes and it was very over cooked, I could only eat half. My partner ordered the fish and chips, and it was also underwhelming as some parts were soggy and it was falling apart.

Lovely restaurant in excellent location. You immediately get the vibe of a french bistro/restaurant. The service is very good, staff very welcoming and friendly, all adding to a relaxed atmosphere. The pre-theatre menu is amazing value for money! The chicken liver parfait was deliciously smooth. The beef bourguignon excellent, the beef perfectly cooked and the red wine sauce rich without being overpowering. The mash complemented nicely, although at home i would have some green or nice bread to dip in the sauce! The chocolate cake as desert was also quite good and the syrup from the berries complemented the chocolate very well. All in all, a lovely restaurant with good food well priced, cooked and presented and great staff. I can't wait to go back.

I can’t recommend this restaurant anymore than this. LOVE LOVE LOVE! The service, food, staff, the design of the restaurant, atmosphere were ALL IMPECCABLE. This is now one of my favourite restaurants. I took my mum here for Mother’s Day this year with my sister and we all enjoyed it very much. I was served by Danijel J, he did a good job taking care of me and my family and recommended me a lovely Rose wine (Cotes de Provence) because I didn’t know what wine I should order. I will be taking my partner and my bestfriend here for sure. This restaurant is worth every £ spent here.

Had lunch yesterday at this restaurant. Tasty food, warm ambience, clean toilets, kind and attentive staff. Dry January mocktails were great. Positive experience overall. On the minus side, none of the staff were wearing face masks and one that did was just up to his mouth. Quite pricey as well: 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 mocktails, no desserts at £85+. I’d recommend it only for a special occasion or a date but not for a place one could go on weekly basis or more often.
