Called in for take away, always rated this place but not sure what's happened, food was sadly, awful, savloy was watery, scallops were hard as were chips, possibly re-heated. Curry sauce was powdery. I asked for small curry and chips, with a savoy and 2 scallops, just under £8. Not nice at all and has totally put me off going back.
Ordered large Fish and regular chips, 1 large chips with Large Cod, a chip butty and three jumbo sausage. 1 large cod was brown inside, smelt funny and was definitely off! The chip butty came with no chips, so just a stale buttered bun! 3 sausages looked raw on the inside, but overcooked on the outside, how is that even possible? What a total waste of £22:90! The young guy serving, no offence but shouldn’t be serving, he doesn’t know the menu, and has to be told what is ordered! The chips need longer in the oil as they are barely cooked! Visited this fish bar for many years, most weeks over the last few months there is always something wrong with our order! I will not be giving them my custom in the future! If I could have rated them 0 stars, I would off! Would have been more accurate!
Would have given higher score. BUT THEY WATER DOWN THEIR VINEGAR! Ask them next time you go in and take a look at their vinegar bottle. Don't allow you to have undiluted vinegar either. I always thought it was strange that when I got home my food NEVER tasted like vinegar although I asked for extra If you know a good fish and chips you'll know vinegar is essential! Not watered down vinegar.
Service with a smile Kayley who served me was polite and very helpful in doing my order would definitely recommend to people. The portion size was really good and food cooked perfectly value for money.
Disgusting service, my order arrived on time but had 1 sausage, 1 small curry sauce, and tinned roe missing. 2 mini cods and a battered sausage were rock hard to the point the knife wouldn't go through it. Phoned the chip shop up to explain all this and the female that answered said she will speak to the cook and make it better for future orders, I said I wasn't happy with this outcome as none of the food I ordered was edible or missing and that Ihad spent £23 on food that we can't eat. She then put the phone down on me whilst I was still talking to her about this. Shame the manager wasn't in as I know he wouldn't be happy with the service his staff was showing. The manager is a lovely person and he would have delt with this in a completely different way. I'm not happy with the service or the food this time.
