Nipped in for a quick breakfast before catching the train. Great old school café with vegetarian options. Really pleasant/friendly staff, who quickly served up piping hot food.

Excellent breakfast, Helen run ragged as was busy and only waited few mins, a hot plate is always a good sign, the real coffee is very nice, I’ll be ordering a third soon. Breakfast came out hot and nice fried bread too

Paid for 2 Afternoon tea's from Groupon as a birthday treat for my daughter and the other for a friend, I called for a whole week and no one seems to answer the phone. Once I got through, after being passed to the owner, the response was very cold when mentioning Groupon. She stated that the details Groupon hold about days and times are incorrect and so I had to book a time slot suitable for them. Once we arrived and mentioned afternoon tea booking they looked surprised as if they weren't even expecting us. We waited for another 1 hour and got served some disappointing afternoon tea. I was unable to get reimbursed for my second voucher so reluctantly I had to book again facing the same problem whilst calling and no one answering. This time after we arrived the owner said she doesn't have time to do the afternoon tea!! as she's far too busy and doesn't have the ingredients!! Wow seriously? This is a coffee shop..how do you not have ingredients? Blatant lie as she couldn't be bothered tbh. She told me to leave my Groupon code and phone number so she can claim the purchase from Groupon and then she'll call for me to return the following day to collect a takeaway afternoon tea!! Seriously!? She did not call me back and wasn't answering any of my calls, so I had to go in personally. Once I arrived she said she was just about to call me, yeah right, as she'd managed to claim the voucher. She kept me waiting a further 50 mins to pack the afternoon tea. We had the coffee while waiting and once I received the afternoon tea takeaway there was only 2 scones, and 2 tiny square pieces of cake! Nothing else! This place is dirty, has dried tea/coffee stains on the floor, tables not cleaned, the setting is very old and seems like a back alley builders breakfast shack as they had plenty of builders as customers, this is not -repeat NOT- suitable for afternoon tea. The owner has a different price for afternoon tea on her board which is double the Groupon offer hence the reason why she responded the way she did. Disappointing service and disrespectful owner. I made sure to express my feelings and told her to come out of Groupon since she is not happy with Groupon as the customer doesn't deserve this treatment.

A quaint little coffee and breakfast place. The staff is really friendly, food is good and real value for money. A great spot to have a bite to eat & have a hot drink without breaking the bank. They do an all day breakfast and have a good selection of pub favourites and sandwiches.
