   Been here a few times and and usually really enjoy coming here.Today, though, I walked off after waiting at the till because the staff at the till was having a personal conversation with a friend ahead of me in line. I completely understand a quick friendly chat, but when it goes on and customers are waiting to order, it can feel discouraging.I’d love to keep coming back, and I hope you can pass this along so it’s easier to order next time.

   We come to Coffee Tales every single time we’re in Harborne, and it’s all about the burnt Basque cheesecake. It’s absolutely unbelievable and hands down the best we’ve had anywhere. The service is always amazing. The staff are polite, friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful every time we visit. The food itself is okay, nothing particularly special but certainly not bad either. The venue is lovely and has a really nice atmosphere. It’s a great little spot and that cheesecake keeps us coming back every time.

   I rarely get the chance to visit Harborne unless it’s work-related, so when I do, I like to treat myself. I came across Coffee Tales early in the morning, and it was nice and quiet around 8:30 am. The server was very friendly, making pleasant conversation and asking about my plans for the day. I had a mocha, which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, followed by a lovely vegetarian breakfast. The portion was generous, and everything was well-prepared. The only slight letdown was the vegetarian sausages – given the price point, I expected a bit more flavour or a different brand. That said, it was still a very enjoyable start to the day before a long work training session. I’d happily return for the great coffee and welcoming atmosphere.

   Coffee was pleasant. However the food was terrible, £7+ for pancakes that were absolutely tiny, 2x 2inch pancakes for that price is a rip off, if they were well made as well I could give it a bit of leeway. Unfortunately they were dense and stodgy. Would not recommend the food. Cakes and drinks were alright though.

   Nice modern decor, great coffee if a little expensive but who had the bright idea to install a sliding front door? It stays open so long compared to a swing door that there is an icy winter blast every minute or so! I'll be back - when the weather gets warmer!

   The Coffee Tales in the JQ is an absolute favourite of mine and go there all the time for coffee and breakfast. This one which is on Harborne High street, is all shiny and brand new, with comfortable sofas and chairs. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing and the staff is absolutely fantastic, friendly and always ready to help. The coffee is so nice as well as the homemade cakes. Will definitely be visiting again in the future!
