Popped in for a drink so can't rate the food. Lovely bar with a welcoming feel, real fire burning and a range of real ales. Friendly staff and locals.
Amazing place food was excellent staff were very welcoming we stayed here for 2 nights we ate here for the 2 nights and everything we had was delicious just about to go and try the Sunday lunch would highly recommend
Lovely old pub with a conservatory giving extra tables for dining. Sunday lunch was so good, plenty of veg and roasties & the meat was plentiful and tender too. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all. Looking forward to the next visit.
Yet another fantastic meal at The Gate. It really is one of the best pubs around for food. I had the steak and ale pie, which was fantastic as usual and served with some of the best chips ever. My fiancée had Chicken Gyros kebabs off the specials menu, served with the same home-cooked chips and a really nice grilled flatbread. The chef is a Cypriot and he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to cooking dishes from that region, because they were absolutely beautiful. I've previously had the chicken skewers which are equally as good. We must try the Sunday Roast soon, I bet that is superb too. 10/10, every time. If you haven't tried here, please do!
