   It's a great little place on the canal at the edge of Birmingham, with lots of picnic tables to sit outside and relax. There are often boaters mooring up and coming in for a break and you will sometimes see people paddling a long boat or in kayaks - which adds to the fun vibe. It's a dog friendly pub, as long as your furry friend is on a lead and well behaved - which they always are. You can take a short walk around the block, along the canal, or carry on towards Curdworth and join the "yellow brick road" if you want a longer route. The beer is good quality and reasonably priced, especially on Mondays. The restaurant side had a refurb last year, with a rugged look which freshened the place up. The food is served from 4pm and has an Indian twist which works. I had a veg platter which was good. They have live bands too, I saw a Madness tribute which was loads of laughs. It's a good little pub!

   It was a bit confusing at first but then we were tired and wet from 7 hours of cruising and locks. One bar to place drinks orders, the other to place food orders. They have a very limited selection of non alcoholic or alcohol free beers. We ordered biryani’s which came in a bowl with a lid on that looked like a pie? Never seen it served like this before and it may not have been a problem if my “lid” hadn’t been burned. The curry itself was flavourful and spicy which was exactly what I needed. Not the flavour I associate with biryani but delicious all the same. The chunks of meat were large and there was enough.

   My first curry here at the Boat was superb. We had the mix grill and desi lamb curry and we were very impressed. We now know what real home cooked food tastes like. We will be back thank you for the warm welcome highly recommended.

   Nice pub good staff .we were walking the canal and dropped in for a coffee .don't think they get many coffee drinkers but the lady made us coffee .without hesitation and brought it to us great service .

   A gem of a pub off the beaten track. Plenty of space inside and out. Plenty of scope for improvement, ie, some relevant historical pictures on the wall would be appreciated. Could do more with bar snacks, ie, ham or cheese cobs would be good

   Very warm welcome, great service & delicious food. The building is tired & not much kerb appeal but don't let that put you off. Definitely worth booking for food, we had the walnut & feta salad, which was absolutely delicious & the burger with sweet potato fries. A lot of care & attention is put into the preparation & service. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes.
