   Went with friends for a catch up. The food was delicious - I had the chicken livers and black pudding, it was so tender. For mains I had the duck which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with tables spaciously apart. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive. On the whole a very good evening. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

   Lovely food and good service. The menu was limited as it was just post Christmas but the food we had was freshly cooked and tasty. Generous portions. It was my birthday celebration. The only downside was that there was a major family disagreement at another table in the restaurant which went on some considerable time with shouting and swearing and family members storming out and back in and out again. It spoiled an otherwise lovely evening. Sadly the restaurant manager did not intervene at any point. The evening is therefore memorable but for the wrong reasons. It wouldn't stop us going back as the food and service was good and the prices are fairly reasonable. Just think hotel staff need to more cognizant of the impact guests behaviours can have on other diners.

   We didn't stay overnight, but attended the New years eve party. Wow .... it was great. The food was lovely and the Elton John tribute act was great, what a lovely guy. The staff were attentive. Thank you to all involved in making the night a really really good night. Well done.

   We went here for lunch. The restaurant is nice and spacious with plenty of room between tables. It was very quiet when we visited, the food was all cooked fresh and served hot. The service could have been quicker but was friendly and helpful. We had ribs to start, these were very tender and they were served with plenty of napkins and a bowl of warm lemon water which was a nice touch. Whilst the ribs were very tender they just lacked flavour. The main was good but not exceptional, however the portion was generous. Our puddings were pleasant but quite average. Overall we had a pleasant meal and I would return but not in a hurry. The prices were too high for the experience.
