I went today for lunch with my mum and friends. Great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We were all made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived. We will definitely be visiting again and I will be recommending to all of my friends. Special mention to Nikki who went over and above with the service.

"We had a lovely visit today. There’s nothing quite like a pub with a real fire to make you feel at home! It’s so refreshing to find somewhere that is genuinely happy to have both kids and dogs tagging along. Friendly staff and a great vibe—we’ll definitely be back."

Thank you , Thank You. We received excellent service from The Dog Inn. The food was delicious and the drinks were fab. Nicky the landlandy, was so lovely to us as a family. This was at a time when my family were visiting and even staying with my mother in-law .who was in St Giles Hospice, (which is just up road from the inn). My brother- in -law and wife were up from Wales, were offered a bed for the night and the use of a washing machine to wash there clothes. ( as they running out of clean clothes) . Nicky even arranged for us to have our hot and cold food orders put in containers, so we could eat something at St Giles Hospice Sadly my mother-in-law passed away on 13/12/25. But, Niky’s kindnesss truly touched our hearts at such a very difficult times. So a Very Big Thank You. David & Sarah, Stu &Jess. And Vicky, . X

The Dog Inn was recommended by another pub landlord as they were not offering food and the recommendation was on the nose. The food at the Dog Inn is exceptional. We went for a ate afternoon meal on a Friday so there were a number of patrons, however the service was quick and polite. They offer a standard menu as you would expect, with a specials board as well as a pasta of the week and soup of the day. We opted for the latter 2 options as they were Chicken and Chorizo bake and a mixed vegetable soup (which the waitress advised was very nice and the staff we all having it!). Both were absolutely exquisite. The soup was a large portion server with 3 slices of crusty bread and ample butter, which was more than enough for my fiance. Whilst the pasta was equal parts beautifully cooked pasta shells and protein, all loving topped with a thick layer of cheese and server with 3 pieces of homemade crusty garlic bread. All of this (2 meals) and 3 drink between us cost just under £30 total so it it also extremely good value for money. The pub itself is beautifully presented, with ample indoor seating spread across a number of rooms, outdoor seating to the left and rear of the premises, wrap around parking and guest rooms.

Visited the Dog Inn for the first time after a walk with a group in the surrounding area. Well situated for a walk across Whittington Heath Golf Club and Whittington Barracks including the firing range. Walked about 6 mikes back to the pub where we had a table booked for 13.15. The pub wasn't too busy at that time of day on a Monday. We had a couple of beers and a meal. The pub was very nice inside. The lady behind the bar was very pleasant and friendly. Good choice of beer. All the meals were excellent. There was also a separate restaurant. Would visit again.

Popped in while we were moored up in the village. Great find, full of character. Good selection of ales and lagers, very friendly staff and more importantly dog friendly. Going back next week to try the food .
