Scruffy Costa. I suffered the gauntlet of smokers out side to be met with a cafe with less than 15% occupancy. The place looks like it needs a good deep clean. The coffee and food was fine. The service was poor at best, I ordered a toastie and an espresso to be told it's not in the deal, but with a latte is ??? No please or thank you from any member of staff.,with 4 staff members you would have thought it would be cleaner.
Always go here and on 5/5/25 went to order my usual salted caramel frappe, I always order it with a shot of proper coffee not the instant, Never an issue until today, To be told not sure if I can blah blah and put a message in a works group chat, to the wait and hold queue up, What was the issue? I then said cancel the order as was people waiting to be served, Every Costa I go to even this one does it, But not today rude staff member, I pay for my shot of coffee
What a lovely manager very friendly always smiling making it a lovely environment. Had an issue with a member of staff a few weeks ago. Manager dealt with and personally spoke with me. THANK YOU
Very clean. Tables cleared quickly. great sense of community in the little cafe. Some where nice to have a coffee and a chat or even a bite to eat. Staff very helpful and kind to customers going the extra mile for those needing a little more help & understanding.
Use because of convenience, but if this place got real competion it would be empty. Tables are often filthy, staff insist on door being open in freezing weather. Some staff lovely, but one is SO rude. Shes often stressed, complaining loudly about her job, how busy she is, how many customers there are, how long shes got left on shift. This whilst youre in the que, then shes telling seated customers as shes clearing tables. Yesterday she reffered to those of us in the que saying 'dont know where this lots come from' This isnt what customers need to hear. I work in catering and im busy, often understaffed, but never rude to customers. She even had a rude comment once when i used the toilet because she had cleaned it before shift end and didnt want it using again!! Appalling customer service skills, needs training
Personally, I've never really cared for Costa in general, because every single time I've ever gotten a Tea from any Costa's in the past, it's tasted, at best, mediocre - I have no idea why, but Costa staff seem to be APPALLING at making a Tea, which is the ONLY thing, besides Hot Chocolate, I can actually drink... maybe one day I'll try from here & hope for a decent Tea!
Even giving it 1 star is too much. Staff talking way too much to couple in front of me - all about the guys new tattoo. Talking that much, I went away to put a bag on a chair. Alot of tables needed clearing. I asked for a tray & wet cloth to clear my table. Was given a tray and serviette when I asked for a wet cloth - 1 of the women serving said that she couldnt give me a wet cloth as it was her job to clear the tables - to which I replied 'yes it was!' I asked for a medium, wet, lattee (that is a drink with no foam or very little) in a takeout cup. I took the lid off and about 1.5cm of foam and asked for it to be redone. They were talking about me when they were near to each other. I was in 2 minds to ask for a refund and leave but thought - why should I. They were not busy. A male member of staff then joined them. It was over 1 hr later that some table clearing took place - just as I was leaving. Awful place and awful staff!
Let me start of by saying that this is my regular coffee store, there are many reasons as to why I choose this particular store and here they are. The staff are always kind and welcoming, no matter the weather or what type of day they are having. They are very careful with the safety measures with all this coronavirus going around. The coffee and other drinks always taste lovely and fresh. The food is delicious and fresh, I always grab a chocolate twist which is fresh and powdery or a warm ham and cheese toastie. The tables are always clean and as soon as someone leaves the staff come over and wipe the tables instantly. Good choice of drinks especially during different seasons! My favourite is the ginger bread hot chocolate during Christmas time. Cups and glasses always look clean and brand new.
